              Re: Women's NIT

Here is a list of teams that either won their regular season conference title or a share in the regular season title that did not win their post season conference tournament.

              Belmont 22-7
              Idaho St 17-12
              UC Santa Barbra 16-13
              Tennessee Tech 22-8
              Jackson St. 17-13
              Santa Clara 19-11

They all have a rating lower than we do. They expanded the WNIT field to include teams that do not win the conference tourney but win the regular season title. That means we could get bumped down.

Being an independent and in our first year with a full DI schedule I don't expect anyone on the decision committee to do us any favors to make the 40 team field.

I assume it will be on http://www.womensnit.com

So far, SDSU is 1-0 vs. the NCAA field (Wisconsin-Milwaukee) with half of the field announced.

                          . . .
Oops, 1-1, UC Riverside is being served up to North Carolina in the first round.

                            Re: Women's NIT

Slipping out of Filbert's Bracketology NCAA field:

                            Virginia (18-11)
                            Indiana State (26-4)
                            Western Kentucky (24-6)
                            Villanova (19-10)

Moving up from Filbert's NIT field to the NCAA:
                            Missouri (22-9)
                            Louisville (19-9)
                            South Florida (19-11)
                            California (19-12)

                            "I think we'll be OK"

                              Re: Women's NIT

We were 1-2 against the NCAA field:
Lost (home) to Middle Tennessee St., 72-79
                              Beat (home) Wisconsin-Milwaukee, 70-55
                              Lost (road) UC Riverside, 71-83

Right now I have us as #41 in the 40-team WNIT
Against my projected field, we're 2-2
                              Beat (road) Nebraska, 68-49
                              Lost (road) Drake, 52-54
                              Lost (road) Marquette, 55-67
                              Beat (road) Florida International, 60-56

I think we still have a case to sneak into the field, but it's still pretty dicey.
