Have you thrown out the teams with losing records?
Yup.
Here's hoping that a 2-2 record (all on the road) vs. probable WNIT opponents plus a 1-2 record vs. NCAA opponents will bump us up a bit on the chart.
I think the thing to walk away from this season, one way or another, is . . . we're right there. If we keep making progress, we'll be in the NIT, if not this year, next year.
I knew it was close. It's just a shame that this is the way Heather Sieler's career comes to an end!
Congratulations to all of the ladies and coaches on a wonderful season! I couldn't be prouder of the way you compete and carry yourself with class!
I can't wait for next year!
SUPERBUNNY OUT (unfortunately)
I agree! We are all very proud of the team! They sure put SDSU on the map.
It had to be very close.
It will be interesting to see which teams were chosen ahead of SDSU.
I am absolutely sure that if we had gotten a WNIT bid tonight that the Lady Jacks would have made some noise in the tourney. To play as many road games as they played this year and to win 19 games in Division I is remarkable. Our first round oppenent would have been scared to death of this team from SDSU. For some reason they"overlooked" us this year but it will not happen again. I am sure that the start of next season will begin for this group in less than a month and that next year we will play "post season basketball!"
Thanks for all the hard work, Jacks

According to Filberts list, two teams rated above us did not make the tourney, Texas Tech and Montana. Illinois was the only team rated below us that made it besides the six teams that won their regular season conference but did not win their conference tourney. Illinois was rated two spots below us. You would have to think we were very close.
:'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( These Ladies deserved the chance to play more, but the selection committee didn't see it that way. :'( :'( :'(
Part of what likely did us in, in part was weakness of schedule. The NCAA has emphasized that they love their STRONG DI conferences, and rewarded them for beating up on each other. UBC is NOT going to help our strength of schedule, however, it will have us playing, and likely dominating a conference. I hope that both Stig and AJ can work out arrangements with winning program schools in the Big 10, Big 12, Mo. Valley, WAC, and MWC. Likewise, A-10 in Bball is highly respected, and perhaps offers football matchups also. Looking over the NIT and NCAA qualifyers, hope we can entice them to play us next couple of years. Including some homeNhomes, as Frost matches up well with most of the mid-majors as a BB arena.
A wonderful season for the ladies. I look forward to following close again next year. And thanks for another enjoyed season of Jacks basketball.
