I’m guessing this has more to do with her master’s and a change of scenery after four years than anything else. I’m not totally shocked honestly. Big loss but I couldn’t fault her for this at the end of the day.

I brought up mobilizing the donors in the other thread. I'm not sure if they can stop that one, but I'd hope that they could stop this one. Men's side has been hit by the portal before / dealt with the coaching changes. If the women's team is the last innocent thing or the crown jewel, time to pony up and really support the program.

I saw this too, I was not going to bring it to the table. My guess is she is graduating and checking it out. The news hit me ultra hard, she's my favorite player.

I caved and bought the coaching carousel / transfer portal insider and it was suggested Minnesota might be in the mix, so I don't believe she has do not contact.

AJ is following her from previously, and some of her most recent followers are 2x Creighton coaches and 1x USD.
It doesn't appear like she's a big twitter user, so who knows when these are from but she has followed Scalia from ST and B. Meyer from SDSU, and even further down that list are the TCU coach, Louisville coach, and assistant maryland coach (not sure what her original recruiting is like, but the TCU coach's twitter account is protected so he only has 2500 followers)

The USD boards posts portal players the coaches are following and it appears that they are casting a very wide net.

I see Lilly Meister hit the portal today at Indiana. 6'3 her parents both played ball for the Jacksabbits, Kurt Meister and Angie Swenson. Not sure we are looking either, but found it interesting enough to share. I would not be against looking into it.

I see that Arizona State Mallory Miller, 6'2" SD high school player is in the portal. I know SDSU had interest in her the first time.

I think this team will miss Mesa as much as anyone.

I agree with this. I believe Katie has star potential, and is backed up by Fox and Mali (who knows how high her ceiling is). Who do we pair with Brooklyn? I would absolutely love to eat crow, but I'm just not sold on the recruit from ND.

Personally, I am more concerned about post than PG

I guess I'm the opposite. We aren't deep at post, but have one very good proven option. We've got lots of PG options, but no one with experience. Fox played it some, but her playing time got reduced at the end of the season. And she seems to be more of an off guard rather than a true PG.
