Alyssa Sand commits to St Thomas for 2024. I thought Paige Meyer might've had an edge to get her in Brookings being they came from same HS and played together. Really wanted her in Blue and Yellow.

I don't think that schools can publicly state who they are recruiting and have offers out to. That information, if it comes out, comes from the recruits themselves or their representatives.

Yes, I remember reading that now that you've said this, thanks for jogging my memory. I do hope we can take advantage of the Portal if we can find the right player, not a given we can for sure, rather that we would be that fortunate. Still, there's a lot of time left to find that player if it's going to happen, hoping it will.

I wonder if a reason we are so secretive in who we are in contact with for recruits is to not signal to other schools we are interested and getting them to think, " well, if the Jackrabbits are interested, maybe we should be too", I'm sure there are many reasons, but that one seems very logical in particular if the recruit is relatively very good and overlooked. I don't think we will get major "stars" so to speak, but if I can recall , we seem to get maybe a top competitor in a mid-major who can give us good minutes and is very game experienced and offers something to strengthen the team,that would be a big plus if we got that fortunate, things like 3 pt shooting, a defensive stalwart , rebounder, etc. I doubt we'd get a player who'd knock out a starter for next season, nor would we want to disrupt the chemistry that much anyway . Larsen, the exception, she was that good, but rather someone like Haley Greer, who we acquired from Colgate most recently.

Keep combing twitter... a few new ones in daily.. but many finding homes. I wouldn't underestimate chances of a D2 coming up.... Last year I believe a DSU player ended up at Milwaukee... Moves aren't always P5 down. The Iowa State center last year went NAIA to Clones to Top 5 pick WNBA in an year... Hopeful that a piece or 2 which can help us ... without disrupting chemistry....

There really is no place to view who is offered in the portal. This isn't something that the athletes really even put out on Twitter. I know that White had over 30 schools that were "interested" but no idea how many schools actually offered her. Most of this is speculation.

Darian White from Montana State has entered the portal. Has one year of eligibility. Would give us a nice 1-2 punch at PG with Paige Meyer. Uber athletic player with nice quickness and handles. Not a great 3 point shooter but can really get downhill.

Targets in the portal are starting to dwindle. White has signed with Nebraska.

Yes, and two other sisters have/are as well. The one graduating this year is headed to UM-Duluth to play basketball. Another daughter is a sophomore and very good at basketball.

I think Hope is her name, #24 on the roster, to me, I also think she might be the most athletic of the Counts, although all are pretty good athletes.

According to Charlie Creme Frannie Hottinger is now the 28th ranked player in the portal. Will likely boil down to if she wants to be a bit contributor at a P5 school or a major contributor at a Mid Major that can get to the dance and make some noise. Hopefully we are pushing hard for her.

Surprisingly Lauren Ware is rated 31. With her length and athleticism she should be ranked much higher IMO. Likely is only here due to coming off a season ending injury. Frankly I feel we would be much more likely to land FH but Ware would be a great addition (but I expect her to look P5).

Another player who played on the 2021 WBB FIBA World Cup team for USA . Lauren Betts leaves Stanford after one season, maybe looking for a place to call home, maybe another Pac 12 team on the rise, coached by a former Coach in the Summit , JR Payne, now coaching Colorado? I really liked her as a coach, always amiable and complimentary , win or lose. Peyton Verhulst also transfers from Louisville to Oklahoma , another World Cup teammate to Betts, Ware, forgot Paopao also transferring, teammates in 2021. Surprising even the creme de la creme schools lose key players, as many players looking for that ideal place to call home.
