I had the thought to post the link. You beat me to it.

Shall we turn our attention to 2010 SDSU recruits now?

Keep Oct 23rd in your mind for this to happen. Seems like a good day for another Jackrabbit to come aboard.

Jordan Dykstra's final four in TV's blog: SDSU, Davidson, Hawaii and Colorado State. Remember we beat Colorado State in the Nate Wolters sweepstakes. We are definitely the closest to home and a very large upside. Hawaii doesn't seem to intriguing as a program, but the location seems different. Davidson with their success as of late and the teams they schedule is also a very intriguing offer.

He still has some places on that list he hasn't visited yet, so that might be why they are still on the list. Free trip to Hawaii anyone?

That's what I was thinking. Whether or not they are a serious contender, one would have to take advantage of the free trip to Hawaii.
Hawaii is intriguing because you get to spend 4/5 years in paradise, but just think of all the flight time to away games.

I would think Colorado State is the most serious contender. Miles is a good recruiter and let's face it Fort Collins would not be a bad place to go to school for four years.

Fort Collins is nice, but as a recruit I would have to wonder how long Miles is going to be around. 7-25 his first season and 9-22 his second for a total of 16-47 with only 4 conference wins total in those two seasons. This could be a big year for Coach Miles at CSU.

                  Go State!

And Chad Calcaterra just commited to Co. State....that may affect his decision

Miles is an exception recruiter (exhibit A: NDSU) and I think he'll get at least 4 years to prove his worth regardless of record. I know CSU has signed the top player in Nebraska (Greg Smith) in 2009 and has a verbal from debatably the best big man in Minnesota in the 2010 class (Chad Calcaterra), so I think he'll get the team heading in the right direction pretty soon.

Meh. IMO, Its charms are overrated.

The town itself reminds me of Brandon, although I can't for the life of me say why exactly. As far as I'm concerned its biggest selling point is its proximity to other nice things (Rocky Mountain National Park/Estes Park, Denver, etc.), as opposed to any peculiar charm of its own.

And the campus is, IMO, odd looking----it looks like large chunks of it were designed by the guy who did Holiday Inns in the 60s.

                        YMMV.

                        --

I would guess that if it comes down to SDSU & Colorado State, it's a tough call----but I think you've got a better shot of getting to the NCAAs at SDSU.

Again, my sources which have always been reliable, say he is going to be a Jackrabbit. I haven't spoken to them in a little while so I suppose things could have changed. Its Jordan's decision and he'll make it regardless of what speculation exists.

You may be right, but CSU went 16-15 and 17-13 the two seasons before their AD decided to go in another direction and fire their last coach.

                            7-25 and 9-22 is a different direction.

Don't get me wrong I am ok with Coach Miles, after all he is from Doland SD, but he had two good seasons at Mayville State (NAIA), one good season at Southwest Minnesota State (NCAA D-II), and two good season at NDSU (NCAA D-I). In 14 seasons he only has 3 twenty (or more) win campaigns.
