I said it before, i would NOT want trying to find a coach who will NOT leave to be the top priority. but it is also absolutely clear that stability and continuity have very significant value. i honestly believe there is a good chance this ends up being a net gain. Jackson, and Eidsness, if he is part of the new staff, have both been out in the world a bit. as opposed to Jimmy basically never being anywhere but brookings. Jackson has experience that more money does not necessarily make everything perfect and that the grass is not always greener

doubtful we ever get another 20+ year coach, but I also think it is possible that Jackson is not going to be in any rush to go and it will take something that is clearly a BIG improvement. other than a pay increase it seems questionable that WSU is really an improvement

i completely disagree with the approach Jimmy has taken to our roster and it is undoubtedly a two faced approach considering what he said to the same players when he was here (want to believe that plenty of them would see that and question what they should and should not believe now), but i have moved to the point of wishing him all the best!! that said, it seems very clear that he was going to continue to get plenty of offers and it seems like he could have done a LOT better than WSU and Pullman washington

While many may not agree with Eidness's play calling his last few years here, he has a ton of knowledge and has had productive QB's over his career.
he also was the OC for Ranek, Zenner, Minnet, Weineke, Davis, Kade Johnson, and Goedert, just to name a few. i would have to look but i think there is a good chance that our top 5 passers, rushers, receivers minus Gronowski, Isaiah, and the Jankes all played under Coach Eidsness

there is no argument at all against him being a good and productive offensive coach. Riggs would be my top choice, but Eids is a great choice and a very very close second for me!! and i absolutely believe that our offense would have been better in 2024 with Eids at OC as opposed to what we had. if i have the choice between Eids and Fruend, I am picking Eids every single time with zero hesitation

I could be in minority, but I think there's value in having him return here because he's familiar with college, conference, and community. Plus, he and Jackson have worked together.

I also have trouble believing Eidsness wouldn't have had a decent shot at exceeding last year's production with Jacks, if he had same roster (which he obviously won't now); he also has experience navigating the transfer portal

It's a bit all right - there's 4 or 5 of them that get on and circle jerk each other when one makes a post. Likely all one person.

I wonder if this would signal at least a slight change in the defensive philosphy, and if so, who might be the hybrid safety/LB. Seems like a role Francl would've been well-suited for.

Would think that has to be something with Lujan at NW.
