Herder is not sure about the Big Sky with this outlook.

    Sam Herder
    @SamHerderFCS

SDSU will be fascinating to watch in 2025. Program stability got rocked when the entire staff left and took several players/recruits. But there is plenty of talent, proven and upcoming, that stayed. And SDSU hired a great trio for HC/OC/DC. We’ll see how that all produces on the field. SDSU could start 2-0, 1-1, or 0-2, and none of those scenarios would surprise me

Given the trend with spring games across the country, USD being the latest. Maybe we keep crossing our fingers for this one. Not sure if they've come out with a public stance on spring games

I'm not trying to "blame" anyone. Just a quirk of mine that I like to focus on the Jacks more than former coaches' foibles

As dead as this site is compared to a few years ago I think any post is a good post.

Damn. Something is off about that staff… seems like the money went to their head. I’ve heard some interesting stuff.

Looks like Robbie Rouse has resigned from WSU after being arrested for DUI. The report said his BAC was as high as .347 and he was taken to the hospital before being transferred to jail.

Article on GMs and some of the hires that have been made in CFB.

Looking at this from a different perspective, a long-term one (or maybe even short-term). I wonder if this hire is any indication of what we can expect or at least the university's stance in the not-so-distant future when that realignment possibility that Herder has talked about finally happens.

    2 years behind on NIL
GM hire while the trend is hot.

New Football GM, Tyler Wrice, and Ethan Beisner, Director of Football Operations, announced.

GMs seem to be a new role that the big FBS programs are embracing. I'm not sure how many exist in FCS, but I'll bet it's not many.
"Wrice's duties as general manager will include roster and scholarship management, assisting with Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) activities, and serving as a liaison to athletics and university administration."

New Director of Football Performance announced. Nathan Morris (twitter) comes from Sac State which I think in itself is interesting considering the trajectory that university is on w/ FBS. His role was Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Performance

this Jackson quote makes it seem like this is a Strength Coach role "The strength coach is integral to the development of our program and is really the right-hand man of the head coach in a lot of ways,"

I liked this bit " Morris worked as assistant strength and conditioning coach and sports science coordinator for Colorado State football. In that role he used cutting-edge technology to collect and analyze data and then create strategies for practice and training sessions, with a focus on working with the skill position players."

There has been a bunch of updates to the staff. Jackson appears to be having more "assistant" position coaches then I can ever remember.

Zim has an interview with Coach Bergstrom with some highlights:
    • Bergstrom indicating he saw returning as almost a responsibility to help ensure Stig's legacy and program's upward trajectory continued
    • Stability in defensive schemes, terminology, etc. being a goal
    • Experience as a head coach being an asset for both him and Coach Jackson b/c it allows Bergstrom to view his actions with a head coach's perspective in mind
    • Reiterating that additions will likely occur during spring portal window, but he's been impressed with "chips on shoulders" of players who stayed in program
