It will be interesting to see if Riggs shows up on the Gaskins show today. He's a regular on Monday, and hasn't been on for the last two Mondays, without much explanation other than he couldn't make it. Probably just a coincidence that it happened during the coaching search.

So hoping he's our version of Randy Hedberg may be asking too much?

Followed by D.Jackson, I jackson, and recently followed by bergstrom. Marcus has recently followed Vince Benedetto and brother Tony Benedetto (now Plano East (tx) HS Coach - former USF player link). It would be great to keep Bibbs. You would think that he would have been announced by now since he wouldn't need to go through all the HR stuff. Unless they want him to talk with Bergey in person before making a decision.

Bibbs now followed by WSU football twitter, and Bibbs tweeted out the WSU NFL playoff version of what Jackson tweeted out. I guess the shared recruits are just coincidence.

Kracht has to be replaced, that is a very under-rated portion of the ascension to a national title team.

Excellent interview with Eidsness, including how tenure at NIU evolved and how that damn disease cancer can impact a family.

Glad he and his family are back and his wife is healthy now. I didn't realize they had a son currently attending SDSU.

I didn't realize he has a son at SDSU. Pretty cool. For those who haven't heard Sell's interview with Gaskins and Zimmer, pretty interesting, including his discussion of Rogers replacing Stig. Sort of a last man standing comment, referencing how it would have been interesting if Jackson had still been on the staff.

I did notice Washington State is missing a DLine coach and Jalon Bibbs wasn't mentioned in the WSU article Zimmer mentioned with his tweet about Jimmy's staff (Zimmer was surprised about Kracht, but a few days ago he was already following recruits on the west coast, WSU AD staff, etc).

Jalon is recruiting for someone, and he happens to share his list of a variety of coaches, several with just I Jackson or just D Thomas, a few with just DJ or even Jimmy. Some even with the UIW coach so I guess everyone is going after everyone. Part of me wonders if he's on Jackson's staff and that's partly why we got Clayborne back. Jalon happens to be following the Colgate guard the Jacks offered (who Kobe is also following) two days ago. Jalon has not been retweeting any of the Jacks coaching announcements or player announcements.

Here is an interesting sequence of follows from the Colage player at some point earlier. Kobe Claymore, Brayden Gage (presumably still working for Jacks), Austin Flyger (DL Coach UND), and Deontae Cooper then a bunch of other DL coaches. Flyger's name sandwiched between the others might just be coincidence.

How much of the aggressiveness of the defense was a function of Stigs conservatism? I always got the impression Stig preferred the defense playing more straight up and I believe Stig was not a big fan of blitzing.

I recall that being mentioned when Brown was the DC, and I think Stig admitted allowing freer rein near the end of his tenure.

Would've been great to have been a "rabbit in the den" during strategy sessions to see if at least some staff during co-DC timeframe was reluctant to blitz because of belief it imperiled DBs

I’d keep an eye on Spencer Erickson for LB or DL coach.

I believe he started as a grad assistant at SDSU. Was DL coach for a year at Winona State under Bergy and then LBs/DC last season.

Eidsness is beyond fine... you could argue, other than Lujan, probably the best OC we've ever had, and both times he was OC here, he springboarded into a bigger job.

He's good.

Bergy... my only hesitation about him, is that he was Co-DC with Jimmy, and after he left... and Jimmy took over, the defense got more aggessive and better. Maybe that was just because there is only one guy calling the shots? IDK.

Bergy has a great resume though, and having experience here will be beneficial.

But it's all about the players. Having better players makes your team so much better. We saw that with the facilities and resources build up.

Jackson is an excellent recruiter, by all accounts.

So getting the collective going is the next thing...and we'll be back quickly.
