I see no possible way we are a 15 or 16 seed. I feel from looking into it, we should be a 14 or 13 seed.

      Or something completely different.
Of course the down side to that is that we have to play a good team on their home court.

Playing Iowa State in Ames would not be ideal. That being said Iowa State would not "wow" us by being much more athletic than us.

I just crunched through a bracket, and came out with UCLA and SDSU in a 4-13 game at Norman, Oklahoma, winner to take on the winner of the Oklahoma-Liberty 5-12 game.

(SDSU was the lowest team on the 13 line when I went through the S curve. Thank you, Northern Iowa!)

This would be a pretty darn good draw, IMHO.

The latest Real Time RPI has us playing Oklahoma in Norman as a #3 vs #14 that would be 655 miles to drive

            Has Iowa going to Minneapolis

I hope it is Norman. I have a good friend that lives in Norman, and it's within a reasonable driving distance.

I have vacation time already taken.. if it is withing reasonable driving time I am there... if I have to fly, no can do... I am conflicted... I want them to be close, but our draws look better if they are not...

First off Congrats to SDSU for making the tourney. I don't reside in SD and i'm more of a Big Ten guy, but I will be rooting for SDSU as it's so close and I know quite a few people there... I don't wanna seem like a Bandwagoner...

Anyways doesn't it seem that it'd be a better position for the Jackrabbits to take a 16 seed and play in MPLS, rather than a 14 seed and play in Norman, OK against OK which would have a VERY VERY strong fan base, also their guys didn't do squat this year.
Also just about everyone at SDSU will prolly try to get to the game as it's not to far a drive... And as good a time to get the first loss for Nebraska (Now ya know how it feels) alot of teams are gonna watch that tape in preperation.

                    Has Iowa going to Minneapolis
Charlie Creme also has SDSU traveling to Norman for the 3 vs. 14 game.

It seems kind of funny considering all of the geographical rules violated by Real Time RPI:

                    1) No Texas teams playing in Austin.

                    2) No Iowa teams playing in Ames despite the fact that Iowa State is a virtual at-large shoe in.

                    3) Tennessee gets sent to Ames instead of actually playing in their home state.

                    4) Notre Dame not playing at home.

I'm still going with my prediction of a trip to Norman . . .

Wow. RealTimeRPI's bracket is epically clueless. They make Creme look smart!

I'm looking right at the Principles and Procedures for Establishing The Bracket: "If a team's institution is serving as a first- and second-round host, the team will be assigned to the institution's site." Not a lot of wiggle room there for sending Tennessee to Ames when there's a sub-regional in Thompson-Boling . . .

It's my understanding that ,basically, just the top teams (host) play close to home. The ones that benefit mostly from the revenue generated by the tournement, the top teams, and, the ones who can afford to travel ,stay close to home. They're already theoretically vastly superior to thier lessor opponent, but need the home court advantage.Guess that's the perks for getting a top seed. The higher seeds, 16-14 or so, get shipped all over the country, sometimes thousands of miles.Hope they are serious about saving travel costs for everyone, instead of just the top this year.

According to the Argus this morning, the folks in Minneapolis are lobbying hard to get the Jacks in town for the opening round. Without the Gophers, they want all those Blue and Gold butts in the seats.

I keep hearing this...I just don't see Nebraska not getting the #1 seed and I definitely don't see SDSU getting a #16 seed. If they do this they're basicly telling people, we might as well just go back to having the first few rounds at the lower-seeds house.

IMO playing a #4 Iowa State in Ames, making SDSU a #13 makes the most sense if they're that intent on keeping teams regional and maximizing revenue for the first-round sites.

                            Go Jacks!!
                            SDSU...Passionate, Relentless, Champions.

Blue and Yellow. I wouldn't be doing my job if I didn't point that out.
