    Re: Bracketology

fezzador, as much as I'd love for the Summit League to have two reps in the tournament, the only way they get in is to win the conference tournament. We don't want that to happen....and we know it WON'T happen.

      Re: Bracketology

Oakland is more than likely going to the WNIT, yes, but even if they finish 2nd in the Summit tourney, and with the bubble teams fading down the stretch, and the other conference tourneys play out by chalk, a 25-win team might be too hard to ignore, especially if one of those wins is against a possible top-15 SDSU team (assuming we win out as well). It's going to take a lot, and I mean, a LOT of help to get them there, but stranger things have happened.

        Re: Bracketology

From the RebKell Junkie Board -

Since 2000, no team with an RPI higher than 67 has been select to the NCAA tourney. Right now, Oakland is between a low of 73, and a high of 98 (I need to check various indices further, which I can't access at work). Therefore, OU's chances are slim to none without winning the Summit tourney. The only way for the Griz to go is to beat the Jacks in Sioux Falls.

Jacks would fall out of a <8 seed should Griz win the tourney.

With Jacks win of the tourney, Jacks have a great shot at that #6 seed in Charlie Creme's projection. Maybe, even sneak into a 4/5 seed if the Big 6 conference teams keep beating up on each other, ala Big 10/12.

BTW, Utah continues to lead the Mt. West conf, Gonzaga, the West Coast Conference. UM Griz got beat by Portland St., so PSU holds the tie-breaker in the Big Sky.

Also the Gophers continue to play well after beating Michigan State and have a shot at the Big Ten Title which can't hurt our RPI!

Our attending supporters would shrink, but would be better than MI St at E. Lansing, MI, as not very likely to have 10K Stanford backers down from the Bay Area.

I am just bummed if this holds true because there is no way I can swing a LA trip...

Unless, they put together some fan busses that are making the trip.. has anybody heard anything about plans for Fan Busses for the NCAA's?

I agree that this would be among the more favorable brackets we could possibly receive.

Looking at where the other 6-seeds wound up:
College Park, MD? No thanks, with a second round matchup of Maryland on their home court.

South Bend? Ditto with Notre Dame.

Albuquerque? Second-round matchup with Texas A&M? Not a lot different than taking on Stanford in LA (where you might get some die-hard UCLA and USC grads to show up to cheer against the Tree).

The first question asked is How much would it cost? With the 2nd being how long will it take to get there?

Until the field is announced, don't know. I will hand it to Creme, he has the teams usually well picked, and only misses on the last 2 to 3, and they're usually in his just missed outs. I wouldn't say that he pegs where teams play besides the top 8 (total) ie #1 & #2 seeds.

Looking at the projections, we are getting REAL CLOSE to a #5 seed. If the ACC/Big12/Big East/SEC keep beating up on each other, we have a reasonable chance to become a 5 seed.

I agree the bracket it is a good one, was just wishing it would be closer to So Dakota... lol selfish I know. I have vacation requests in for the time of the first round would just bite to not be able to get there.

                            Better a good bracket

If that were to hold, I would say that the "Berkeley" region is the #4 of the #1's. Jacks would have a legit chance going through that bracket. I'm not certain that OK, Auburn or UConn won't be in the final four. But, NC, Stanford, Louisville, that look possible.
