This is surprising on many levels. I’d guess she’ll go to a top 10 program. Texas was likely coming to Brookings next year just for her to play in her home state.

Maggie was the top scorer and rebounder on team that won 11 games in 2 years with attendance averaging under 500. She averaged 40%FG and 34%3pt and 82% from the line as a sophomore. She also sported #24 at Evansville. I would speculate that she will be in the competition for Mesa's spot at the 4 while Vasecka would be more in the competition for Timmie's spot at the 3.

            • She was on a bad team in a very similar conference. She averaged 29 minutes as a freshman and 30 as a sophomore. She is bringing a great deal of experience with her. This is a great addition.

Looking at highlights on her Twitter page, she has the ability to shoot from the perimeter and take it to the basket. Plus has over 500 rebounds in two seasons. She could really benefit from playing with Brooklyn, who draws lots of double teams. As opposed to being the best player on a bad team and likely being constantly double teamed herself.

                • Wish Timmer would have stayed. A lot of talent will be on the floor for the jacks next year for sure.

                  • Maggie is going to shine. What a great pickup. Her and Meyer will be yin and yang. Pick your poison.

I'm still wondering if we need an experience true point guard. We have been spoiled with Paige, I don't want to see a drop off.

I have no idea what Mahli will be like… If she is somewhat like Paige… This will be great. Paige could crash the boards right away as a freshman… Mahli is it redshirt freshman, we will find out if she ends up being the starter. I believe it’s been said on this forum that the coaching staff is very high on her.

I'm looking for Ellie Colbeck to have a good senior season and personally feel the PG job will be hers if she can earn it. Guard rotation is pretty good along with a heavy load of 6'2 perimeter players with good ball handling skills. Can the season start tomorrow?

Vasecka ran the point late in the Duke game. She won't be the full-time PG, but I could see her in a point forward type position for a good portion of time.

if we have someone else to be the main PG, it is tough not to see Vasecka as the swiss army knife.

Paige was the starter from the get go as a true Freshman. I very much believe that the coaches think there is a good chance Abdouch got to learn from Paige last year and will be ready to replace her this year, but I am not making any guarantees

someone tell me if you know differently, but my understanding is that Thul is a Vasecka clone. if that is true, I feel like the starting PG is one of Abdouch, Kolbeck, Vasecka, or Thul. I would guess they feel they have enough options that they dont want to put that pressure on a true Freshy unless the is the run away best option

I am of this belief. I realize Colbeck will be a senior and she will offer a lot. But I don't see her as a starting PG in the program. I think as I have stated before that Abdouch was redshirted to tutor under Paige and she will be our starting PG. No offense to anyone, they all have roles to play. Look at Mahli's pedigree. JMO
