Thanks for putting me in my place. I was going to ask you for the source of your rumor, but too many facts got in the way. I remember when Sox coached the Jacks. He pretty much got things going by recruiting Jim Sutton out of Onida and Schriber out of Agar. Iverson had a solid roster to start his career. Sox's dad was the head of SDHAA for many years. Pierre has provided a number of great athletes over the years. Woodard was big in high school although ESD had not admitted Pierre as a member since SF Washington hung around for basketball and other sports but played an independent schedule in Football. Living in Brookings we never saw the Pierre teams play. Then for bb Huron seem to always eliminate Pierre in the sectional tourney.
I find myself now not paying that much attention where the kids are from but can they play?

Can we give coach Lisa Kanniegater some credit? Lisa played at SDSU some time back. When she was up in Brookings as head coach she put together a state AA girls championship team. She takes a job a Minnesota State Mankato where she was an assistant / recruiter that won a womens Dll national championship. Now in Pierre she is producing Dl girls year after year. Maybe its coincedence - but - I don't think so. I just hope she keeps sending them to SDSU.

Today's Argus has a piece on SD's best HS basketball players. The girls' section is a nice illustration of SDSU dominance in local recruiting.
