  • Re: 2012 recruits

According to a scouting guy on twitter South Dakota St. has looked at Carlton Johnson a 6'2" JuCo combo guard from Potomac State College in West Virginia

He is the 6th rated scorer in D-II JuCo ranks. According to the school newspaper http://issuu.com/potomacstatecollege...uino_12-7-2011 He has been looked at by Central Florida, North Carolina Central, Pitt, UCONN and St. Johns. According to the guy on twitter SD State and Texas Pan America are the most serious right now but higher schools are continuing to look.

Joe DeCiman a 6'4" guard. Was ranked as a top 15 recruit as a sophomore and had some pretty high interest but was hurt all of last summer and did not play any ball so his recruitment has slowed.

        Here is some vid- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DVTtlNHkNMY

Here is a write up about him after he was named MVP at a camp

De Ciman earned MVP honours at the TOP 20 game and for good reason, posting a game-high 28 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists. When it comes to his physical attributes, De Ciman has NCAA written all over him, with his body structure at the shooting guard position second to none in Canada. At 6'4, he has rock-solid size and strength, coupled with supreme athleticism. However in terms of his skill set, we would recommend that he dedicates time to advance his all-around game including shooting, dribbling, and especially his assertiveness. If De Ciman is to be consistently as aggressive as he was in the TOP 20 game, there is little that can be done to limit him at the high school level. Keep tabs!

Ranked the #24 recruit out of Canada (but it does include all of the Prep kids playing in US)

down as in if you don't play summer ball your junior year, teams will back off. He hasn't committed anywhere and appears to be healthy from everything I've read but I'm still looking up some things on him.

With all the wing guards we signed last year, do you think we still have any interest?

The offense the Jacks run, they will be interested in every 6-3+ athletic guard. If they can shoot it helps.

yes and no. Having a level camera angle makes him look taller as well as the competition looks small. I don't think he is any shorter then 6'4" though

Wow. That is the type of recruit that we do not usually get.

Jacks are currently in the right situation to bring this type of player into the program.

His athletism alone makes this kid one heck of a prospect, but he looks pretty raw and could use a redshirt year. The Jacks can afford to do this because they don't need to bring in a player (besides maybe another post) to play right away being we are only losing 1 player from this years squad.
If you think nobody cares about you, try missing a couple of payments.

The camp in which he was MVP though was recent/post injury. Seems to be healthy

The highlight video is impressive. The best part is the young man plays some defense - it isn't all dunks and three pointers.

Buddy told me he still has achilles/foot/ankle problems. Can't practise/play all the time.
