Scott Sutton doesn't have any problems getting players from Kansas City, Tulsa, Atlanta, Raleigh-Durham, Portland.

Ron Hunter has players from Louisville, Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Orlando.

Dane Fife scored players from Atlantic City, Fort Lauderdale, St. Louis, Detroit.

        We keep going to:

        Madison, SD
        Winner, SD
        Rock Valley, IA
        Volga, SD
        Brookings. SD
        Bowman, ND
        Brandon, SD
You think it may be easier for those coaches to bring in players from urban areas because their campuses are located in urban cities? Is it easier for a kid from a big city to commit to living in Tulsa for 4 years or in Brookings, SD? Is it easier for a small town kid to make a transition to SDSU or to IUPUI?

People who have lived here their whole lives have a hard time realizing that Brookings isn't an easy place to recruit to. In the grand scheme of things, it's a relatively small school in a small town with little to do, which makes it hard to attract players from towns of 100K+.

So, you would have us ignore the "local area" small school kids that are very highly rates by the reputable scouting sources in favor of going with someone with urban flavor? Really?

That post just makes no sense on a number of levels that trying to explain to you just isn't worth the time and you are not going to get it anyway.

I had to give you negative points for that one. You are certainly entitled to your own opinion but if that is how you feel all I can say is WOW!

All right, I'm tired of this. I'm sure I'll get neg-repped into oblivion, but I can't take it anymore.

Do you really mean to say it will be hard for us to compete when we continue to bring in white players from rural towns? What you're trying to say is that we need more black players, right?

I DON"T CARE IF A KID COMES FROM BUFFALO, SD OR BROOKLYN, NY. IF HE CAN PLAY AND COMPETE IN THE CLASSROOM, I WANT HIM ON THE TEAM.

Randy Moss and Jason Williams went to high school together in Belle, WV. Population 1259. Not even remotely close to an urban area. I guess somebody should have passed up on those two recruits, because everybody knows good players can't come from small towns.

Here's some recent Jackrabbit greats form urban areas:

Matt Cadwell - St. Paul, MN
Andre Gilbert - Brooklyn Park, MN
Jose Frias - New York, NY
              Cam Hornby - Winnepeg
              Josh Cassaday - Aurora, CO

Of the top 5 scorers in school history, all 5 are from "small" schools. But we shouldn't recruit kids like that.

Maybe the thought of pie is so overpowering to trolls that they immediately have to go on a "pie run", therefore forcing them away from their computers!

                  Nagy:
"Dancing with the Stars" was a blast last night. Go online and vote for Lesli and me at www.sdsupc.com
                  Vote for Nagy!!

Odds SDSU can find another BB coach with those kind of moves??

Wins tend to bring in the crowds. If having local talent is the answer, our own Frost should be packed at every game?

Remember, the beauty of forums is that every one has a right to their opinions. Just because I don't agree with the coach doesn't mean I don't agree with the future.

I'm tired of every year having the same discussions at the end of the season. "Wait till next year" has been this boards battle cry for five years. Nagy may have been a great coach at D2, but nothing I've seen makes me believe that he can turn around this ship.

The conference went down from the 15th or 16th ranking D1 conference to the 24th or 25th. We still couldn't make progress. A good reason for our 4th finish this year was because the other teams were much worse than in the past.

I don't start it because I don't think we are turning the corner. Why do players keep quitting? We even picked up two players that couldn't make the grade at USF, which is NAIA D2.

That's a confusing post, Justin. When you write "we", are you referring to NDSU or Mankato? You're not an SDSU student or even a mildly interested fan.

Well, Just, here's my opinion... if you can't see the progress that this team has made over the last three years while transitioning to a higher-level of competition, you're either blind, stupid or both.

                                Definitely both.
