I think we owe the Bison fans something for setting an attendence record at CAS a year ago, so why be hostile about one guy giving his tickets to friends or relatives?
With that being said, any season ticket holder that gives their seats away should know that they are responsible for the actions of the people who sit in those seats. I have heard more than one story of people who have had their season tickets taken away when the person they gave their seats to did something stupid (fights, drinks thrown, verbal altercations with other season ticket holders, etc).
So the wise word to all season ticket holders would be to make sure that the people you give your tickets to act with some class. I don't think it would be out of line for someone at the athletic dept to give Mr. Hungerford a call and let him know (in a nice way) that if he is not going to use his seats, make sure the people in those seats act with some class.

Re: NDSU Game Thread
To say we'll makethe NCAA tournament is to be a homer. Sorry, that's just a fact. When is the last time we've won three straight games of any type? Five years ago? Maybe my memory is bad. If we've done it since, it's certainly included NAIA wins. Well, there won't be any NAIA teams on the schedule the rest of the way -- and certainly not in the conference tournament, that's for sure. And while we are at "home," during the tournament, we won't be at Frost -- where we practice daily. The team has done better this year, but there's not much more to say. The close losses have put is in a dangerous spot. Getting into the conference tournament is the bare minimum acceptable finish to the season. No excuses, no debate. That's it. Period. We can play with most teams in the conference at Frost, but have yet to prove we're much of a threat on the road. After next weekend, we'll know a lot more. Two home losses and we can quit talking abount any tournament, conference included. I don't think that will happen, but I'm nowhere near believing we should be expected to win the next two, either.

A couple of good wins this weekend and I think the team will be back on track.... I think some fans forget how far this team has come in the last 3 years alone.... From having football players play, not even being in games, loosing very bad, to what the team has done this year is pretty good.... now its not good enough and they need to get over the hump if they want to win games but some people should look back and say hey this team may not be there yet but they have come a long way from where they were just a couple of years ago...

Re: NDSU Game Thread
As miserable as we might sometimes feel for (and about) our men's team, Sagarin has SDSU as the #5 team in the Summit League:
86 North Dakota State 78.08
111 Oral Roberts 75.65
126 Oakland-Mich. 74.90
198 IUPUI 69.87
231 South Dakota State 68.22
236 Southern Utah 68.05
245 IPFW 67.51
251 Centenary 66.98
269 UMKC 65.71
312 Western Illinois 61.60
Basically at the half way point in the conference season it's NDSU all by themselves; then Oral Roberts and Oakland fighting it out for second place, then the bunch of average teams from #4 and #9, then Western Illinois, bringing up the rear right now.
Granted there's a razor's difference between #4 and #9, but the season is far from lost. A little more poise down the stretch in the coming nine games and we should make it to Sioux Falls. We fans need to follow the same kind of advice we'd give the team--don't panic, keep your head, and execute. We need to at least split the home games next weekend, and after that can't afford another home loss. Getting a road win somewhere would certainly help in making it to the conference tournament, too. It will probably come down to that last conference game in Shreveport, unless a couple of other teams just collapse down the stretch. We don't want to be one of those teams!
Let's beat the Jaguars and the Grizzlies!

Time to expect 6-3 the rest of the way. Maybe better.
Rather than lament a lost season, it is time to say: 6-3 is not only possible, it is expected.
I've said it before in another post. I think six wins gets you in the tournament. But I believe the Jacks will be playing only for a better seed on the final road trip.
Anyone disagree that the anger and disappointment on this board over the last month is different from immediate seasons past? Different in this way: It has been far more to do with inexperience or shots not falling, rather than lack of effort or being overmatched.
This is not pollyanna, this is a fact: Jacks are about three bad minutes at the end of the last three games from potentially being 6-3, and a game out of first place.
Now, it is undeniable that the same things at the end of games keep happening. But at some point, a breakthrough - a last second shot that falls; a screwup by the other guys at game's end; one or two key Jacks recognizing they've been here before and doing something to overcome it; heck, even unabashed luck - is going to happen.
Halfway point in a season of promise and disappointment is a perfect time to expect more progress than disappointment. Cup half full and filling. Anyone disagree?

Re: NDSU Game Thread
After next weekend we go to IUPUI and Western Illinois, both who are tied with us. That will be a huge road trip. IUPUI, what has happened to them? They almost beat Arizona St, beat Seton Hall(who knocked off Georgetown today) and theyve lost 5 of 6 in conference i think. I think we break our conference road losing streak on that trip. We go 5-4 in the 2nd half of the conference schedule and make the tourney as the 6th seed. Im always an optimist, its healthier.

Re: NDSU Game Thread
To me, it looked like only one of the NDSU fans sitting in the front row seats was acting like an assk (taunting the student section was the main one). I have no problem with season ticket holders exchanging tickets to out-of-town fans IF they know the fans are going to behave.
Year after year, it seems like the Summit League refs we have working the games (both the men's and the women's) are getting worse and worse (not just against SDSU, but against both teams). The Summit League really needs to look into getting new refs. There needs to be constant calls from all refs on what is a foul, and what isn't. Are they going to let physical play go one night and not the next? Is a hand check a foul tonight but not the next night? If a player gets thrown to the ground (i.e. Rotert last night), is that really a foul (ummmm yeah)? The commish and the schools need to get together and get rid of the crappy refs and find some quality ones.
I'm not using this for an excuse for Friday night. I'm making a general comment regarding the refs.

Im completely dissapointed in the outcome. We really should have won, we drove to the basket for layups also we missed several more then they did, I think they got layups to easy but they converted um, we didnt. We had chances, the ball rolls a few centimeters the other way and goes in, we win, but it doesnt, seems to be our teams life story, how many times can they be so close with out rolling in.
In all honestly, NDSU the "great" (sarcastic) summit league team who beats everybody and senior loaded out worked us to get the game, barely. Coulda woulda shoulda, we were close but did not do enough to win but I see a turning of the tides next year for sure. Im not writing off this team but we have most of them coming back is what excites me, a few new additions maybe a healthy davis, NDSU loses its core of its best players and as far as i can tell is not bringing in anyone close to their talent and abilities, however we lose 1 while gain 3 or 4 and bring back our core group, if we lose again next year is when i will really be pissed but I will accept this one that we lost. Could have won but we didnt and I am ok with the loss, just the way that we lost is i think what the problem is. Sorry for the long winded respone but I think it had to be said or if i missed it, repeated.

Amen, I am sure there are SDSU fans out there that do the same thing, and frankly I'd be just as upset/sad for them as i was for those 4 NDSU guys.

Some of these fans are great people, and some act like jerks and make the others look bad, and that may be the case Friday Night that is Jerks and not gentlemen or ladies. I missed the game in person btw.
If you give your tickets or trade them or whatever to other people, you should know who they are and how they will behave especially if they are courtside. Good points.
