Well...I still can't stand Bader, his kneepads, and his pigeon toed strut. But damn that kid can stroke the 3 ball

Does this mean that we will be playing freshman next year, because we have absolutely no faith in our bench players? They are so bad that they can't even give someone a 2 minute break? Was everyone, short of Nate, so dynamic that we couldn't afford to take them out? After 2 years of standing stationary watching Nate do all the work, are they even going to be able to be aggressive offensively on their own again?
No question. The lack of bench is a huge liability going into both the tournament and next year. Last year we did not have much more for volume, but White was a quality sub that Nagy seemed to have confidence in. He clearly does not trust anyone beyond the first five this year. It's been the same story in all the big games - virtually no bench minutes.

That makes getting a 1 or 2 seed even more important imo.

As I wind down from the day I couldn't help but think about how amazing wolters week was. Then I though about how not great the rest was this last week. Finally I thought all week we have heard from the coaches to not look to far ahead only focus on ipfw all week then spend friday to prepare for oakland. I just wonder if both coaches and the team except for nate forgot to prepare for both teams. The target on our back is their. We still control our own destiny but the coaches need to get guys back to playing defense and helping nate out on offense. We have the biggest game of the year hopefully the team learns from these last 2 games and comes out ready to win the summit confrence before it takes on the confrence tourny.

They are preparing for Oakland all week as well, one of the coaches has their scout, and they are practicing sets, and situations for that game as well. Its just coach PR to say 1 game at a time. I've always hated this road trip, its just two of the more physical teams, and then Oakland is good. As far as the bench, Nagy needs to trust it more, looking back Nagy the last 5-6 years Nagy has never played a deep bench late in the season (some of it was the fact there was no bench). I'd like him to get some minutes for the guys, however I'm not too worried, the starters have been playing big minutes all year.

Dykstra, some of it I think was the offense they were running, they were playing him more at the 5, and having him down low, most of the night. But he needs to improve that part of his game, seemed to force some things down the stretch. It's one thing if hes not part of the offense, but I don't like it when he's forcing it to be part of the offense.

I didn't like the fact they weren't attacking Valentine with 4 fouls, though I thought he fouled out and they botched a call.

Illegal screens? yeah I thought I saw a fair amount of moving, elbows and knees added to their screens, but I also thought Carlson was getting lost and catching them, so they might have looked worse then they really were.

            Bader.... yeah he can shoot.

Even though they lost, the argument could be made that the team played better against Oakland,at least offensively and on the boards. Got a lot more out of White and Carlson. Defensively not so much, but the Grizz definitely have a lot more firepower than Fort Wayne does. When Oakland is hitting on all cylinders, they have a lot of options which make them hard to guard. We'll see if they can duplicate that away from their home court when they get to Sioux Falls.

Even though the Jacks lose at Oakland, they still have the key. Win the rest of the conference regular season games and the least there is a tie for the conference championship. That also brings at least a top 2 seed for the tourney. 2 of 3 games remain at home. The OU game revealed a few gaps in our defense, but the coaches need to figure out a bit more comprehensive plan a team that might have more than 1 scoring threat. I still have the confidence the Jacks can stay at the top of the conference.

For the people wondering why we didn't go after Valentine with 4 fouls, the box score show he only had 3 for the game. I just don't think OU will shoot that great in S Falls, if they shoot their normal percent for the game we win. Just don't see many teams shoot a better percent of threes in the 2nd half as compared to the first.

I was able to watch the game on Fox sports Detroit yesterday. Mateen Cleaves, former MSU point guard on their national champion 2000 team was doing color commentary. Overall, he was very good and said some really complimentary things about the Jacks and Wolters especially, he believes he can play at the next level.

The tiebreaker procedure is on the Summit League's website...go to the following link and scroll down almost to the end of this particular webpage.

Head to head, then record against each team in order of finish in the regular season.

This is last year's release. It's at the bottom. I don't think they'll change it.

                            Edit: Beat to the punch.

OU is good. taken awhile for them to gel with the new additions. Jacks played good enough on O to win just couldn't get stops when they needed them and missed a couple wide open chances. Hard to win when Jordan is shutdown on offense but still could have gone 2-0 this weekend.

Still in great position to at least share conf title and get a top 2 seed. I think OU and WIU will be the toughest matchups in SF. Experience on the court and on the bench. Bison are good too. You know someone is getting upset in the first round but if they don't the semis will be awesome, arena should be sold out.

I like the Jacks to win it. Best player, experienced supporting cast and home court. Can't ask for much more than that.

while I was at the game yesterday I watched Bader a lot. if he was in the play he moved, if he wasnt he just stood there. Carlson and whoever was on him (Bader) would have to battle through at least one to two screens and there were a lot of hips and arms thrown and holding onto him while trying to get around the screener. he hit the floor hard at least three times and fouls should have been called. Bader got away with at least two fouls not called on him, when he was called he pitched a bitch to the refs. dont know why but Oakland really seems to get up to play the Jacks more than any team in the Summit they play. O'rena was almost packed and it was loud.
