I'm not advocating a 10 player rotation, but I can't see the logic that says Taevaunn is good enough for:

    18 minutes against Alabama
    23 minutes against TN St
    19 minutes against Montana
    18 minutes against Belmont
    15 minutes against NDSU

But not good enough to see 1 minute of action while the starters were getting their butts handed to them (don't want anyone questioning my fanhood, so lets say not playing to their potential) against what is supposed to be an inferior USD team.

As far as specifics, Taevaunn, Heemstra, and Bittle should be getting meaningful minutes every game. Barring injury, they shouldn't disappear be on the bench.

Questioning tactics doesn't mean I don't support the coach or the team, although I certainly have my issues with many of Coach Nagy's tendencies. While he does have the most wins of any coach, he also has the most losses. He did lead the team to a win against #16 New Mexico, but he also led them to a loss against #300+ USD. EDIT: He is the best coach we've ever had, but he doesn't walk on water.

USD comes in at #200 not 300+

    http://realtimerpi.com/rpi_Men.html

SDSU has had twenty 20 win season all time. Coach Nagy has 9 of them, no one else has more then 3. The most wins in a season 27, done twice. Once by Scott Nagy in D-II and once by Scott Nagy in D-I.

Please tell me what are "meaningful minutes" and who should lose those minutes?

Try being from Minnesota (where most are MN fans). South Dakota people just fall that way. My college roommate liked Notre Dame Football, UNC Basketball, San Francisco 49ers, Minnesota Twins. I don't get it...

This. Was able to watch the womens game yesterday with almost no problems - that was probably the first one of the season that didn't aggravate the heck out of me.

Sorry RO. I am not an alum. I graduated small private school in Iowa. When I lived into Sioux City area, I watched the Briar Cliff team(not my alum either). When I moved to this area, I found the Jacks as the game in town and I have been a fan since. My wife does have a post degreee here, but that does not precede the days on the bleachers under the east basket. Even when I lived in the NE Nebraska, I only followed the yotes when a local youngster was a running back for them. Most of the football was the local high schools or the Husker football that the kids enjoyed. I did listen to jack games on
WNAX, but I did not have the local connection I have now. Many of the NortreDame fans I incur are good Catholics or Irish so they have a predisposition for that loyalty. Otherwise it is the national championship and most people line up on one side or the other.

It amazes me how a bunch of adults (I'm just assuming that most posters are adults, although you often do not post like one) insist on berating this team. If you're really going to call yourself a "fan", then start posting like one. For as negative as many of you are, you may as well join the USD student body, because that's what you are acting like............ no class. So, yeah, my pet peeve is people who need to get a life............a positive one.
In the 1970's movie "Kelly's Heroes", Donald Sutherland, playing the character "Oddball" said it this way:

ODDBALL: Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves? Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here? Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?
                          MORIARITY: Crap!

Maybe too much Moriarity and not enough Oddball on the message board of late?

Okay, trivia question: Who played Moriarity in the film? (Hint: No, it wasn't JacksFan96. )*

later in the film: ODDBALL: Crazy! I mean like so many positive waves maybe we can't lose!

                          * Gavin McLeod --- yeah, the Captain on filbert's favorite TV show, Love Boat.

No, goon, the guy above is "Oddball".

Since USD is 200, I feel soooo much better.

Taevaunn did not play against USD. The team on the floor shot 25%, gave up 55%, and got outrebounded by 6. Defense and rebounding are a couple of Prince's strong points, but he probably had a bad week in practice.

I said Coach Nagy is the best coach we've ever had. What do 8 DII 20 win seasons have to do with anything in the here and now?

Meaningful minutes are enough minutes to impact the outcome of the game. Its going to vary game by game, but against USD Taevaunn could have taken some of Carlson's or Nate's 20 minutes, Horstman's 4, or Bittle's 11. Think about that, against NDSU Bittle wasn't good enough to see the floor. Against USD, he plays more than half of the first half. Let's say 1 from Brayden, 1 from Nate, 4 from Horstman, and 2 from Bittle in the first half for a total of 8 first half minutes. Is that specific enough?

With 14 games left , if the Jacks keep winning at their current pace they will have 20 wins going into the Summit tournament.

I agree, LakeJack. We should welcome the OldHares and all the other non-grad fans and friends that SDSU can attract. That view fits well with SDSU's role as a public, land-grant institution that serves everyone. I think it's great when people with no direct connection to SDSU become fans of the Jackrabbits. The more the merrier.
