Any word on which recruits were/are in for visits this weekend ? TV mentioned in his game blog that 6 were on campus.

That's great! But this season you'll probably only be excited to see the recruits from the season before(and there are some good ones!). Highly doubt any of these kids see the field as True Freshman.

Even more impressive is the FBS schools we are losing kids to are nearly all BCS schools. We haven't lost many to lower level FBS teams.

I find this part of the list the most intriguing. 1 loss to NDSU, UNI and USD, WIU, but two to ISU. The Redbirds are building a solid program I think. We're recruiting right in their backyard, we need to beat them this year. The rest are all going to FBS schools, which really shows the aggressive nature of the recruiting by the coaching staff (and probably exactly how hard it is to turn certain recruits to come to our little CAS)

Lally looks to be a good one. His LB teammate and friend committed to NDSU earlier this week.

Tory also reminded me a little of Mitch Pontrelli too.

If he's anything like Mink he'll be alright. I was only able to make it to one game last year and it was the Nebraska game. I asked the person next to me who number xx was he said it was Andy Mink. I was really impressed and 'motor' is how you describe that kid. Like I said, this is why it's the coaches job.

He appears fairly quick off the ball when in a three point, which is one key ingredient to a successful interior lineman. He isn't perfect technique-wise, but what high school kid is? Coach Brown will teach him what he needs to know to perform at a high level.

He looks to me like he is in the mold of an Andy Mink, but coming in a little heavier than Andy did. I could see him being a good DT for us. He definitely has the frame to grow. Welcome to SDSU Tory, look forward to seeing you and the other recruits on the field!

What I like about him is that he doesn't quit on the play, he is always down field on the blocks, and made a few blocks that sprung his RB for longer gains.

Perhaps you would be if you were on the other end of a couple of those blocks. He moved pretty well relative to the other 21 guys on the field, IMHO

    Re: 2011 Recruiting List

Our coaching staff has shown time after time that they can take players that are not highly recruited and turn them into all-conference type players that get invites to pro training camps. I trust that they don't offer scholarships to players that they don't have a plan for. Does that mean that they are right 100% of the time ? No, but I am confident they are better talent evaluators than most posters here, myself included.
