We need big but quick LB's ,the defenders of that all important 1-15 yards of turf. The defensive line stops the forward surge, and penetrate as much as they can, but it's the LB's that plug the holes on the running plays & drop into coverage on short pass plays.

What I like about Kline if he plays quarterback in college is this "dual threat"! We are doing very well in the Twin Cities. As our facilities continue to improve I think the proximity card will help us get more good athletes out of the Cities. Some video and interview with Kline. http://www.kare11.com/sports/prep/at...870703&catid=8

I hope we could find some Juco receivers with size in the 6'1-6'3 range and of course a little speed. Assume everyone is seeking that combination. Great news on Kline. We have to improve a the Quarterback position if we expect to compete for the conference championship and playoffs.

Considering the team's lack of WRs you would have thought they would try and pick up a JUCO or two. Or are there some WR on the team that will contribute that I don't know about? Anyone in the redshirt class right now?
Depth at WR looks like this:

    JR Rollin
    SO Hubert
    SO Tiefenthaler
    SR Gant
    RFR Schneider
    RFR Wright

Question marks with SR Dale Moss & SO Julian Wagner (missed 10 with injury)

Unless one of these players can step up and produce like Kool did last year, a JUCO might not be a bad idea. The two redshirt freshman received good reviews last season so they might be able to contribute next year. Schneider is a big-target, possession receiver and Wright is a speedster.

Big recruiting news: Blaine QB Eric Kline, the Strib and Gatorade player of the year in Minnesota, said that he has given a verbal to SDSU.

Scout.com shows that 6'4 230 DE Bryan Burke from Scottsdale CC in Arizona as visiting on 1/14. I didn't see him listed yet on here.

YES,with his speed,he could cause havoc at the defensive line, possibly drawing a double team ,giving the DT's better opportunities, and making a LB blitz much more effective.Plus at 6'6 he could deflect a lot of passes if he gets close enough. Is he strong enough for the DE position though?

I think he could be, but I also think he could become a very good TE. I'm very happy with him being at TE. With his size and athletic ability he will get covered by guys smaller and possibly slower then him. He could stretch the middle of the field and help out the WRs get more single coverage.

-Great size for a TE, looks to move really well for how tall he is and also looks like he could comfortably add on another 20 lbs.

-We've done a good job of grabbing kids from the Minneapolis metro the past two years. It's always good to build connections with the TC programs.

Not sure the reason, but it seems like we never hear about the KC players until signing day. Maybe that area just isn't very good at releasing recruiting info?
