Re: 2011 Recruiting List
The 4.7 I think was his official time, but his coaches also timed him at a 4.5 last summer. This kid is the real deal at WR. He was double teamed in most games this year and still averaged over 100 yards per game, 25 yards per catch and around 17 yards per attempt. He has a 31" vertical.

Re: 2011 Recruiting List
4.7 could easily turn into a 4.5 with the right strength and conditioning program. Plus, the body's natural maturation.

Re: 2011 Recruiting List
The 4.7 in the 40 does not bother me for a couple of reasons. First, his size and basketball background has likely helped him to create space. With his space, he should be able to use that frame and leaping ablilty to be a good receiver.
The second reason is that he has been a cross country runner for a couple of years. Distance running training works against explosiveness that is associated with speed and leaping ability. If he focuses on speed training and weight room work, he could develop speed to go with his length and his verticle leap should improve too.

Sounds a little like former WR JaRon Harris in that he only really played 1 year of high school football.

Re: 2011 Recruiting List
I was checking out the Gopherhole web site (different GopherHole than my namesake), and found some names in relation to the Jackrabbits.
OL - Jonah Pirsig, 6'9" - 285 lbs., Blue Earth, MN
Jonah attended the SDSU summer camp last year. He may be out of reach for us as at least six BCS schools are interested in him. http://www.gopherhole.com/modules.ph...ticle&sid=1212
QB - Eric Kline, Blaine, MN
Mitchell already had him on the list, but here is another link regarding his interest.

UNI, Del., and Indiana St. all had running backs 5'9" and less who had good games against SDSU.
Haven't made a game this year except Nebraska and was only able to watch a few on the interent. I didn't pay attention to the WR size I guess.
