Hermanson's a good player, heard whispers about Iowa, but I would think it will be like the Gebhart situation; hoping for Iowa but ending up at NDSU or SDSU (let's hope the later).

Also out of pure curiousity I was wondering why it seems like SDSU gets a lot of kids from Arizona? maybe it just seems like it.

I think coaches have said that Arizona kids can relate to the rural culture of SoDak better than kids from some other urban areas. Maybe their reference was to Texas. I don't recall. But similar reasoning might apply to recruiting in both of those bigger states.

I updated the recruiting list, so far Jacks have offered at least 7 different players with most of them having offers from FBS schools.

I also mapped out where the recruits are on google maps so that we can see what areas the coaches are focusing on in recruiting.

I've been updating the first post in this thread with all the 2011 SDSU recruits and also the recruit map. (Just added a CB today)

I've also been posting updates on my twitter feed at twitter.com/minneapolisjack, but I'll start posting more here to keep everyone updated.

Some observations:

-SDSU has made at least 9 offers this year. I'm not sure we had that many offers out by the end of December last year. We defiantly seem to have changed our philosophy of when we offer a player and are getting more players in earlier for visits.

- Coach Spack at Illinois St has taken the early recruiting up a notch. Illinois St has offered at least 52 players this off-season. (Most are 3-4 star players that have since committed to BSC schools.

-Last year it seemed that NDSU had extended it's recruiting region into two hot beds for SDSU, Nebraska & Arizona. And now this year I'm seeing that NDSU is recruiting in SDSU's favorite new stomping ground, Missouri and the KC area.

-Speaking of NDSU, they are bringing in a transfer DE from Nebraska. The player, Tyler Westpaul, was a 4-Star recruit out of high school and the top rated player in Wisconsin at the time.
