He might transfer to Minnesota State if we do that.

Two more coming on board, per TV's tweet:

It's tease time: Two new verbals for the South Dakota State football team. Per usual, I'll unveil them later tonight. Stay tuned.

he said he waits until after the local news and other paper deadlines so they don't pick up on it.

Russell-Tyler-Ruthton linebacker/running back Lance Weber was spotted on campus Thursday ... SDSU offered Andover, Minn., WR Jason Schneider last weekend, according to his prep coach. He is scheduled to visit UND this weekend and it's possible that UNI will swoop in late ... The Jacks also met with Brandon Valley kicker Ethan Sawyer - ranked No. 40 at his position - this week, while Aberdeen Central kicker Evan Nolte was on campus last weekend. He is ranked 53rd

                thats from Terry's blog

SDSU now has a dozen verbals. The latest: DL Nick Purcell from Rapid City Central and RB Zach Zenner from Eagan, Minn. http://bit.ly/5QS7Dg

                  From TV's Recruiting List:

Nick Purcell, 6-3, 245, DL, Rapid City Central. Honorable mention all-state pick in Class 11AA. Reportedly had FBS interest.
----- A link provhttp://sports.espn.go.com/ncaa/recruiting/football/news/story?id=4283347ided point towards this ESPN article

                  Which states:
Nick Purcell (Rapid City Central, S.D.) has an offer from San Diego State. The 6-3, 245-pound defensive lineman has Wyoming leading the Aztecs at this time.

I assume it is really South Dakota State and not San Diego State but I could be wrong. But it does say that he was drawing interest from Wyoming.
                  --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Zach Zenner, 5-11, 210, RB, Eagan, Minn. A finalist for Mr. Football. Named first-team all-metro by KARE-11 TV. Averaged 8.9 yards per carry. Saw time at quarterback, running back, receiver and returned kicks and punts.

Not sure what the coaching staff has in store for him. In the youtube clip JoeBoe provided it seemed he was more of a slot reciever than a RB, but he did run for 1181 yds with a 8.9 yds/carry averge.

                  Found this from ESPN:
                  http://sports.espn.go.com/ncaa/recru...ory?id=3982992

Athlete Zachary Zenner (Eagan, Minn./Eagan) made the trip down from the Twin Cities to compete and did well. He measured in at 5-11, 209 pounds and ran a 4.77 40, a 4.38 shuttle, had a 34.6 vertical and a 37.5 in the power ball toss. He plays wide receiver and running back for his high school team, but says he is going to consider a move to safety next season to increase his versatility.

Was named to Kare11's all metro team as the specialist:
                  http://www.kare11.com/sports/prep/fo...8582&catid=212

                  Zach Zenner - Eagan

Eagan's Zach Zenner is this year's All-Metro specialist. He was the unselfish leader of the Wildcat football team. The senior rushed for 1181 yards and 14 touchdowns, averaging a school record 8.9 yards per carry. He played quarterback when the starter got hurt and did a great job. He caught two touchdown passes, and returned kicks and punts, one of those kicks for a touchdown.

Zenner was one of 10 finalist for Minnesota's Mr. Football

I hope the highlighted part is either a misprint or he drops 1 1/2 seconds to 2 seconds off his 40 time before fall camp.

I was thinking that was pretty slow as well. Could be he just ran a bad time because he looked fairly fast on the YouTube clip. I'm kind of puzzled as to what position he'll play. Seems like he could be a RB, WR, LB or S.
From the little bit I found it seems he is a typical SDSU recruit. Might not have blazing speed but is a gamer and a leader. He stepped in and played QB some when their starter was hurt.

I had to delete the "Had interest from SDSU but committed elsewhere" section from the recruiting list because it's starting to get too long.

I would assume you mean tenths of a second...otherwise he would leave Usain Bolt in the dust...

Of course that is what I meant. I was so busy subtracting I my head that I mistyped. Someone that size I would like to see around the 4.6 to 4.55 range at worst.

                            Thanks for clarifying that.

I see him as a safety or maybe, maybe LB. I don't expect to see a lot of people that size excelling at LB. (We all know Jimmy Rogers was an exception and not the rule.)

I agree he looks like a gamer. 4.77 40 though will have to have him in the backfield someday-that will not cut it at the WR position.I'm sure he will improve on that time though.

This is shaping up to be an impressive class. The team is probably still needs depth at a some positions. O-line? Linebacker? Maybe RB.
