    What NIL money?

I don't think this is accurate. SD is only going to produce so many DI kids. And even those you take are risks. Are we supposed to recruit DWU type guys that are no good so they don't leave?

On thee other hand, I can't think of any SD kids that State has wanted that we've lost to JSD (a couple, Pierre kids in particular to NDSU). And we've missed on some guys. JSD has a pretty solid O-line, 4/5 SD kids. But you can't take everyone.

It sounds like perhaps this is simply a reboot from last year's aborted collective attempt. Suggestions that there'll be some decent seed money. But at this point, what realistically will we have to spend?

And they need a QB - that's going to take 25% of that to get a good one. And a few other skill position players will get a bigger chunk. What does that leave for o-linemen and rotational defensive players ? Maybe $ 25,000 ? Nothing to sneeze at, but what will it cost to get their family members to Pullman to watch their games like they do in Brookings ? It's a 19 hour drive one way. Plane tickets are close to $ 1,000, with a minimum of two connecting flights which means a full day of travel to get there and a full day back. Do that for 6 home games. And a lot of the road games for SDSU were within driving distance. Maybe my math skills aren't that good, but it doesn't seem to pencil out quite so favorably as you might originally think.
WSU social media expects a "number" of SDSU players to commit to WSU this weekend. It's disheartening to see the portal list now include some guys who initially were committed to the "Brotherhood." Reeder and Durrance have already committed. Does that increase the chances Tucker stays home?

Grandma Stoffel said Davin wasn't going anywhere but is now in the portal.

I would be surprised if Large is back.

                In McKnight I trust.

                • I'm over the portal. Lets get some guys who want to be Jackrabbits and start rebuilding this thing. Washington State literally had 17,000 people at their last home game. When SDSU posted their coach announcement it got 434 retweets and 668K views. When WSU posted their coach announcement it got 241 retweets and 116K views. There is a reason their prior coach left for a 4-8 ACC job and no conference wants them. UCONN's coach just publicly called out Jimmy and their staff on twitter for trying to poach a recruit.

It'll be disheartening to see former Jacks leave, but Jackson can mine the portal for some gems too, like Stalbird was years ago

You missed the point. We lost on on Majewski and others that Stig wanted and Jimmy didn't.

Not offering Hammerbeck is inexcusable with the portal the way it is now. Stig said it himself that Rogers was going away from that and would be detrimental to the program in the long run.

I wonder if Mora's vocal opposition is intended to help convince a conference that UConn would be a great partner because he purportedly wouldn't portal poach

I agree. They need to get some big checks into the collective quickly and then hope that it is not too late to keep a few of these players that are in the portal. I doubt things can happen that quickly, but we can hope.

Who’s in charge of the collective? I was told it would be up by the new year. We are losing valuable time.

                              • Supposedly 22 recruits on campus in Pullman this weekend. Classes start at WSU on Monday. You have to assume that a lot of these guys are SDSU guys. As of right now, 42 guys are returning or, in the case of '25 recruits, recommitted to SDSU. While there are 10 days until classes start in Brookings, a long time in college football transfer portal world, the assumption is that there won't be a full roster for spring ball.
