I like how the list of players returning is growing but I sure would like to see more DTs and OL on there. I took years to build those positions up and I would hate to lose that in 1 year.

JI seems very connected. I'm a little confused by the "out" vs. "tbd" lists. There are portal guys on the "out" list who haven't committed (although a bunch are reported to be joining Jimmy & Co) and and portal guys on the "tbd" list. Are they certain that the ship has sailed on the "out" list for some reason? For instance, Kobe Clayborne is in the portal, tweeting offers from all the G6 schools he's getting offers from, but is on the "tbd" list. 25 recruit Isaiah Hung is "out" (going to Pullman?). Hopefully Tucker Large and Angel Johnson on "tbd" means there's a chance they'll be back.

Losing Woods and Voorhees leaves a pretty big hole at RB. Angel Johnson would certainly be in the top guys as of now if he came back. DL looks to have a pretty solid group. OL is a little thin. Would be nice to get Hagen and Hicks back. That would make that group pretty solid.

My main area for concern is secondary, especially CB.

Hagen tweeted about 10 minutes ago that he's coming back.

It's disappointing to lose guys like Reeder and Francl but at the same time, they are grad transfers, not portal entries. I feel that to some extent grad transfers have fulfilled their obligation to the university and if they have another year and want to play another year and try somewhere else, good for them. If their whole collegiate career has been with this staff, or most of it, its a bit more understandable. I'm equivocating, I know.

Place kicker might be the biggest area of need with JS going to Pullman.

It would definitely suck to lose two stud freshman running backs, but we do have Renfrow from Joplin who was highly regarded coming in and there are a lot of other fellows in that room who might be just waiting for an opportunity

Hicks is still an unknown but the other three have confirmed they are returning which is still a good foundation. Jackson is certainly going to dip into the portal to supplement what we have returning. Things sure don't look as bleak as they seemed a week ago.

JI has those guys as out. They are as connected as anyone so I'd assume they aren't returning at this point.

I was surprised to see that Stevens is going to WSU. Saw a report yesterday that he was visiting Iowa, where his older brother kicked. Thought that would be a lock.

They are on the Bison stooge media list leaked by Bison coaching staff as being listed in the portal as signed. JI indicates they are gone, too. What a shame. I think Wazzu has a number of RBs coming back. We are a little light on RBs. If Angel returns, he'll certainly be the horse. Can't imagine he'll find a better opportunity to showcase his talent than in Brookings.

I believe we also have 5 or 6 incoming OL who JI indicates are still committed. Not that freshman OL can be expected to be big contributors but there are at least numbers there. So far, RB, DT, DB and PK are really thin raw numbers wise. With school starting, short time frame, and FBS roster limits not kicking in until the new academic year, we might not see much in the way of portal additions until after spring ball.
