Is the assumption that F TE Beau Baker, our big TE get from Kentucky, is going to Pullman?
Baker and the following share follows: Bama Defensive Recruiting Assistant, MSU's Football Recruiting handle.
He follows MSU Director of Player Personnel Sean Levy and earlier follows (who knows when they're from) include SDSU baseball coach, Univ of Cincinatti baseball coach, Bobbit. (and even earlier Gopher Illustrated x2 and KState LB coach, Arkansas Asst QB coach, Miami OC/QB Coach and then some older SDSU staff from last year and a Penn State Special Teams/ Outside/Nickels Coach)
He is followed by MSU Tight End Coach and most recently Benedetto and Jackson (and from earlier Bobbit)

I think we can ask jake to look into WSU and (maybe typing Baker's name in on MSU and Bama (i see Bama has a thread on a TE entering the portal).

I would say Baker is another one where you hope Goedert and Kraft can convince him to stay, otherwise it looks like Bama and MSU are after him.

Ty Lockwood is the Tide TE they're posting about. Spartans are mentioning purported visit from Vandals TE Mini. A couple of posters mention wanting a blocking TE and a theory that coaches may be looking to add sophomore/junior players for depth given the TEs they already have on roster. Good thing they didn't see Brenner last year, given his blocking aptitude.

I wonder if some of those social media follows are coaches casting a wide net now in case FCS teams have attrition following FBS teams trimming their rosters to prevent exceeding the new roster limits.

      • Saw Tyler Feldkamp popping up in some of the follow lists and was wondering if he'd come back. He and JI recently shared follows.
Here's his journey. 2 years eligibility

This one might be a fool me once shame on me. fool me twice shame on you when it comes to these schools and tight ends at SDSU. They may not want to lose out again. Would be curious to see if the Alabama people are the same from Saban's Kraft year.

Or they're trying to get Stoffel to bite on a reduced NIL deal by thinking they'll opt for teammate instead

            • I just don’t get it. You win two nattys and then make it to the semi finals, ndsu punches you in the face a couple times and then…
instead of the group of guys rallying together and say we are coming back and winning it next year you transfer to Washington state or Notthwestern? They aren’t winning anything at either of those places. Most aren’t getting a large paycheck either.

I’m really confused about the offensive guys leaving as Jimmy clearly favored the defensive guys (rightly so) and we had new offensive coordinators that certainly didn’t set the world on fire.

What a joke, those guys aren’t real jackrabbits.
The guys who stay and build this thing back will be the real jackrabbits. I don’t get how you look at the guys you have been in the room with the past 1-4 seasons and say nah man I’m out, I’m going to Washington State.

I’ll root for Mark whatever he decides, he clearly said he was leaving due to Chase and he’s literally given us everything he had. The rest, if they don’t want to be Jackrabbits, then I could care less.
Sucks seeing more guys leave every day. I’ll be happy when it’s done and we can focus on who wants to be part of this program.

I’ll pass. If you leave SDSU don’t bother coming back. We aren’t a charity circus.

I agree very strongly with basically every word of this. i have probably said most / all of it in some form or another already

you do bring up something interesting that I have not seen anyone say anything about

DO NOT get me wrong!! I am excited to see Chase get his shot and to see what he can do!! AND he was one of the very first guys to say HE WAS STAYING and I LOVE THAT!!! but just from curiosity more than anything, do you think Mark would be staying or thinking about it, if not for Chase?

I think that is definitely a good possibility. you talk about basically guys having a competitive spirit and wanting to rally together and come back and go out on top after falling short this year. I think that is TOTALLY who Mark is!! i am guessing it is sitting badly with him to lose his final game and final 2 vs ndsu after never losing to them before and never losing a playoff game that he finished

I very much believe Mark is taking a page from the book of Stig. Stig stepped down when he would prefer to stay to give Jimmy a shot with a GREAT team. Mark is stepping down to give his friend and brother his chance to start.
i realize that his basically always been the plan. play his 4 years and move on to the pros or to an fbs school if he was advised to do that. but I think ending on a loss would have made him think about staying except for Chase.

anyway. i am only curious, nothing more. Mark has nothing left to prove and he is easily in the discussion of the greatest Jacks footballer ever.

I agree we have a better connection with Ducker. Is it more likely to get a RB who had a solid season for a G5 and is possibly trying to move up, or get a RB who is trying to bounce back from a P4?

WR room is crowded. Can he play DB? DT? Can he kick?

I agree but with a grad transfer I can fully understand it! They gave us 4 years. Get a little pocket money and a graduate degree from a very high level institution that is more specific to your future career and it sets you up for life. I can’t be mad at a younger guy getting 6 figures either! It sucks, but it’s reality. There are going to be some kids that transfer because of promises made and they may play some the first year and then the coaches get a transfer in front of them for their final year or two of their career. The loyalty to their coaches is admirable but the pressure to win at the next level is intense and it will over ride the loyalty in reverse.

At this point, I just want the coaches named, the players committed to wherever they want to go and move on with who wants to be here. Playing time is open and those that stay or come here are going to get their chances to prove themselves.

His latest injury would've had me deeply conflicted about advocating his return to the Jacks. He's a great player, but I just hope he doesn't detrimentally impact his long-term health

                              • Last Jackrabbit follows on the NU General Manager of Roster Development and Retention from oldest to newest: Wilde, Beernsten, Clayborne, Hawthorne, Stoffel, Large

Benedetto has also recently followed Large (to go along with I. Jackson as mentioned in other thread, which is curious)
