Boy, I hope not. I'd much prefer another Delaware, or even NDSU,-type Jacks' victory

I have a feeling that people underestimate SDSU's passing attack, because the Jackrabbit run game has been so effective. Between the Jankes, the tight ends corps, Strong/Davis swinging out from the backfield, and adding in the Gronowski Factor, it seems to me that the SDSU passing game would not be a particularly welcome sight for a defensive coordinator.

Rewatching Sam’s quarterfinal game and semi game, I think the key on defense is to get to to Schmid. I don’t know if that means we need to blitz, or just rush 3 or 4 and keep a spy, but he has the speed to move the chains on the ground and we can’t let him get out of the pocket. He also has the arm talent to pick us apart if we let him sit back there. It’s going to be very tough and I think our D Line is going to have to have their best game in years to keep him contained.

On offense, I think they key is to stay on schedule and not have negative plays. Their D plays super aggressive, so a first or second down rep is going to force us into passing and they are going to pin their ears back. If we win on first and second, we will control the pace of the game and west their d down. If we can’t get positive yardage on those two downs, o think this game could get away from us.

One thing I am curious to watch is the SHSU o line. They are huge, with several guys well over 315 lbs. I am curious to see how well they move, and how they run block. I get the feeling that they are not as dynamic as some o lines we’ve seen, but I could be wrong. This game truly comes down to which team wins on the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball.

filbert, I think this is spot on. I've watched SHSU a couple times in the playoffs including their incredible comeback last week. They are a very aggressive team on defense. This game will require Gronowski to put together another solid performance. That should give a lot of opportunity to the tight end group. Plus, they will have to deal with Gronowski as a duel threat QB. The Jacks have so many weapons on offense and a really solid offensive line. Eck has been calling plays beautifully and keeping players off balance. Our offense against their defense will be where this game is decided.

All the clichés are in play:
          - win the battle at the line of scrimmage
          - win the turnover battle
          - this game may come down to special teams
          - time of possession will be key
          - avoid stupid penalties

This should be a very entertaining football game. The best two teams in FCS in a brawl for it all!

Let's go Jacks! Time to make some history!

          SUPERBUNNY

          MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM, BIZUN!!!

JMU and NDSU both averaged 3.2 yards per rush. If our O-line and backs are as good as we think it seems like 4.0 might be possible. That SDSU O-line vs SH D-line in the running game is what I'm most interested in seeing.

Maybe we'll lean on Davis more than Strong because of how quickly Davis finds himself 3-4 yards downfield.

This might be the game where we see a little more TE and RB screen game if their d is as fast as we’ve heard. Have really only used the tunnel screen to the WR group this year, so it could be a good wrinkle.

Also, is anyone else starting to get concerned with the forecast for Sunday? 50% chance of thunderstorms or greater throughout most of the day. Rain is one thing, but lighting could cause a delay or postponement. I wonder if Jerry World is open on Sunday??? All joking aside, let’s hope the boys can get the game in without any interruptions.

If I was on the planning committee...just before the kickoff, I'd have two B-1Bs fly over, low and slow. One from South Dakota's Ellsworth AFB and one from Dyess AFB in Texas.

Nice. Have them hit the afterburners when they're right over Toyota Stadium, too.

Latest detailed hourly forecast from NWS shows 32% chance for 1 pm through 4 pm, and 0.05 inches of rain, 1 pm to 7 pm. I think it will be more of a minor irritation than anything else. Winds 15 gusting to 25, coming almost endzone to endzone from SSE will probably be more of a factor.

If it's like NCAA women's golf, the Jacks would be declared champions because they are the higher seed.

Well it they open the hold stadium each school would get equal number of tickets. I know when we played the team north of y'all they sold out their tickets then bought tickets on our side.

Here is a Texas sourced preview of the game. SHSU seems to be the favorite on this one.

Me too but favor our way. My old ticker has had a hard time our last 3 games.
