    Re: 2011 season tickets

I renewed mine on line at gojacks.com. Seemed like it was a little more user friendly this year. You can do both the renewal and donation on the same site.

      Question for the doc,

With the Junior Jacks, they get a what General Admin ticket?

Just wondering about my order, how many seats I should get.

Their Junior Jacks ticket would not be good in the season ticket area, obviously.

Just asking, as I have two kids who are eligible for Junior Jacks.

I'm not the Doctor...but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

Junior Jack membership gets them basically the equivalent of a GA ticket for any athletic event, so it wouldn't be good for a reserved seat in any of the reserved sections (FB or BB). So if you want your junior jack child to have an actual seat next to you when you purchase season tickets, you'll need to buy them a season ticket as well.

Actually, they are moving to the NE corner (between Dykhouse Center & east bleachers) of the stadium on newly purchased bleachers. The sound they will project from that corner to the west grandstand is going to be awesome. I can't wait! Is it football season yet?

What he said, except the first part. So, for my kids its more about the birthday and holiday cards sent by the Jackrabbit and early invites/priority for camps and other events.

Regarding the seating in Section D: Did the Pride usually stand up the whole game? I was in section J so couldn't exactly see over that way.

The reason I ask is that in general, the students stand all game. I don't think it would be the greatest spot for season ticket holders, especially if you have an aisle seat by the students. Not that I don't mind standing, just not the entire game.

My first trip to South Bend for a ND game, my 3 friends and I had tickets in the student section and we stood the whole game. And im still here to talk about it. : )
I wouldnt complain if i had to stand the whole game. Hell, id love to stand up once without looking behind me to see if anyone cares.

I stand the whole game every game and prefer it that way. When they eliminate the option to stand on the east sideline I sill be disappointed.

Yeah they stood the whole game. My season tickets are seats 1 and 2 in my row in section E, (was) right next to the band. The only time they got in the way was when the ball was inside the 5 on the south side. I'm guessing with the aisle between D and the students there shouldn't be much in the way of sight lines, plus when the ball is in that area most people are, or should be, standing...

Be interesting to see how the season ticket holders like being right next to the student section without the Pride there as a buffer.

I would have liked to seen the AD create some sort of special section in Section D that is set up for maybe younger season ticket holders, or maybe just fans who know they will want to stand up, yell, and be a little more active during the game. It would maybe solve some of the griping people do on hear about being yelled at to sit down during the game or getting dirty looks, and it would create a section that would typically be a louder and more vocal area for gameday.

It also would have created a buffer between the current season ticket sections and the students, if that indeed is a concern at all.

If there is a special section for people who know how to cheer properly, how are the other uneducated people going to learn how to cheer?

For Pete's sake, I am so tired of this goofy argument against standing and cheering. I have only seen it in two states, MN and SD.

There is no rule against standing and cheering as long as you don't ring a cowbell. Or swear. It is called home field advantage people. I know D1 football is new to a lot of South Dakota n's (not most of the people who post and read this board) but standing and cheering is part of watching a football game. We are lucky if people even know to yell for the defense on third down. A lot of the times you can here a pin drop except for some scattered fans and the parents section. Thank God for the "Thats another Jack Rabbit's first down" guy. Is he supposed to sit?

Go to any other stadium except for certain Viqueen fans. Nebraska, NDSU, Iowa, Badgers, Green Bay Packers (the most educated in football), Texas, and even High School - fans stand and cheer.

Don't give me the argument that some people can't stand. If you are too fat to stand, get in shape, you have six months until the games start. Come to the spring game and practice standing. My parents are 73 and 74 years old. They stand during games and don't complain. They think that moving around at their age is good for them. If a person is disabled and can't stand, the Jacks already offer a special section down low for this. Just ask Kristy for it and she can make arrangements.

My hope is to hear the stadium roar all of the time. Someday it may happen, but it is not going to happen by having a special section for people who want to cheer.

I LOVE the idea of moving the band to that corner! Nothing gives more energy to the crowd than a first rate band playing towards you. That's why the half time show's sound so good. It gives the feel of a big time program, like when the USC Trojan band plays their "Spirit of Troy" song while their team is driving.

When I go to Husker games, I enjoy seats facing the band as the add so much more than the piped in music. When I sit on the same side as the band, the sound gets lost. By having the music projecting to the season ticket holders and the student sections, it should get all fans 'jacked' up.

As a former trumpet player, I do feel for the band members facing more of the cold northwest winds.
