  • Re: AP poll

Well the AP poll is a media poll. The ESPN/USA poll is a coaches poll. I think the coaches know more about the good team in WBB than the media does. I think the ESPN/USA poll is the better poll.

Exactly where I predicted we would be. This needs its own thread?

Yep. It sure needs its own thread.

              Voter - Rank
              RPI Women's Basketball Top 50 - 15
USA Today Coaches' Poll WBB - 26
              AP Poll Women's BB - 34

From those stats, it appears to be what they were last week. Check the site later to get the stats for this week.
              RPI we are #7

I see Tennessee is playing Old Dominion tonight. ODU is the 2nd highest ranked Honorable Mention and the game is at ODU. If ODU wins, I could see Tennessee falling from 13th in the polls right into the range of the Jacks. Nothing against Tennessee or snookums, but I might be rooting for ODU tonight.

So Filbert, maybe you can answer this, how did ODU get a home game against Tennessee? It would be sweet to see SDSU in that position someday.

                Go State!!!
                Go Jacks!!!

                And for tonight:
                Go ODU!!!

ODU lost by 5 to U of TN, 81-76.

Maybe neither team has seen a defense like SDSU has?

Tennessee plays non-conference road games . . . rather unusual for a big-name program, but it's a part of what they do. ODU has been a women's basketball power for a long time.

SDSU stays up long enough, we'll see Tennessee on the court.

This is a little off topic but here is a website that tracks women's college hoops national championships. ODU has been a power since the beginning of the NCAA women's championships. The interesting thing is if you go back to the old AIAW (1972) SDSU actually made it to a national tourney before they did

i looked at last weeks games of the top 25, nobody screwed up enough to give the jacks a entry pos., probably have to wait some more(ap).Everyone won , although some played some patsy,s, except for pitt. who at #16 probably have enough room to slide a bit, & tcu lost to texas a&m, a higher ranked team , so they won,t be dropped out either, sure hope i,m all wrong though.probably be some shuffling , but i don't think there will be room to move in.
