Evansville had something like a $5 million women's basketball endowment announced a month or two ago but that didn't the 9 portal entrants

Meanwhile I'm hearing Hopp may go to USD. I get wanting more playing time but why would you want to join that dumpster fire?
I think Jenna had a chance to play a key role for us next year. I think she brings a lot of toughness. very good rebounding from a guard spot and I always like the way she takes the ball to the hole. UNO is probably less than a 30 minute drive from her hometown. will they be worse than usd next year? usd is basically a total rebuild. if she wants to stay in conference and not play too close to home (UNO) why not look at ndsu they might think they are gonna give us a real fight to win the league and they are only a couple hours further up the road
With Timmer I think we were ready to have her, Brooklyn, and MM lead us to something really special. now we need multiple players to probably take bigger roles than were probably expected. they may have been expecting KV to become a star next year anyway but now we need it more. we will see what Ellie K is ready to do as a senior
I think Maddie M has played her best ball by far in the last 5 games. i really thought she was a HUGE key to our win vs OSU. her and Brooklyn will be ready to lead the way. I think KV is gonna push to be a 1st team all leaguer. the group of Ellie K, incoming Thul and Hoselton, Abdouch, and Fox have a lot of potential. seems pretty likely we will get some other additions

Today, skim revealed his prediction for Timmer -> Oklahoma State
These were the teams they heard that had interest in her on 3.28 "Gonna have a lot...Iowa State, Colorado, Ok State, Virginia, Nebraska, Michigan State so far I've heard"
AJ in the Calling all Sports Interview:
Question: "You lost a couple of players to the transfer portal - I wasn't all surprised about Jenna Hopp. Again, whether it's the transfer portal, which is still relatively new, or in the old days sitting out and transferring b/c you just don't think you're going to get to play as much as you would like - I understand that. With Haleigh Timmer that was a head scratcher for me b/c she's from SD, she's been a starter. She's a key player on your team. How tough is it when something like that happens for you?
AJ: "Yeah, I think everything you said there is accurate, true, fair. You know Jenna I think we had some ideas throughout the year that might be something she might think about. She is pretty upfront and honest and how can you blame her. Let's find a place where you can play and have the impact that you want to have. Haleigh's was more of a surprise. I think that's probably fair to say for everybody really on the team, but that's okay, too. I just think it's the world we live in right now. There's probably close to 900 transfers in the transfer portal and so many of them are the very best players on their team. Many of them are competing in the NCAA tournament and winning conference titles. There's just a different world where players want to experience different things. I will say this, too, which is unique in Haleigh's case. She graduates this spring. She finishes her undergraduate degree. She's a phenomenal student. She's been everything we would ever want her to be on and off the floor. She's probably and I know this from talking with her you know had that mindset that "hey, I'm going to be done at South Dakota State this time," and she ended up getting hurt last year so now she redshirts so then it's an idea of "I can come back for my 5th year or maybe I can use that 5th year just to have a different experience. I really think that's what it came down to for Haleigh, and that's okay. Like I said, I think that's a lot more normal now than it used to be, but she's done everything that we would ever hope or ask her to do here as a Jackrabbit and will be graduating and that's just kind of a natural time to see what else is out there for her. So yeah, disappointed sure'd love to have Haleigh back and that part of it but not disappointed in her if she's got (?) a right and chance to pursue something else and we wish her the best if she does that."Last edited by peavy; Today, 10:07 AM.

I'm trying to stay optimistic but every month its getting harder and harder to stay positive. Timmer and Gonowksi I'm fine with, they put there time in and earned have a chance to try something else. But it's hard to stay a fan whe.
