Jacks trailing 3-4 going to bottom of 6
UNO has only 2 hits but had 8 walks leading to the 4 runs (i misspoke previously they had 1 hit and 2 walks in first inning. i said opposite)
Jacks have leadoff hitter on again to start the 6th and trying to bunt again. did same thing last inning and did not score the runner. this time they get the runner over again BUT do not sacrifice the out because the Mavs misplay the ball

now bunting with Boyle
THIS scenario makes far FAR more sense to me. moving the runner from 2b to 3b with one out makes a LOT more sense then you can score without a hit from 3b
bunting the runner to second and giving away the out you STILL need a hit to score
Boyle could not bunt in 2 attempts and looks at strike 3
Bassi pinch hits with 1 down runners on 1b and 2b

Augie has a nice, new softball stadium, and there was was a good crowd there today -- mostly Jacks' fans -- who got to see SDSU beat Omaha twice. One more game to go against Omaha at 11 a.m. Saturday (April 8),This space for lease.

Late to the game, just saw bottom of the 7th, game going extra innings, tied at 0-0. Jacks making Myers throw strikes., Dumont and Bassi force the 3-2 count and get walks with one out , we don't get either home, game goes to extra innings. this is quite the pitchers dual between Meyers and Kniesche. Top of the eighth 4 up three down one walk given by TC, Jacks at bat, bottom of the eighth. One out double by Ros Carrillo , sister up, full count to joce, walks, runners on first and second.Batter out, now Dumont up w/ 2 outs. 0-1,1-1,2-1,3-1, walk, bases loaded , Boyle up , hard hit but caught in Outfield....dang , so close, but no cigar.

we get Roz on to start the 10th
and we bunt maybe our hottest hitter with 2 hits already today and let her get herself out on purpose
we have used this strategy 4 times this weekend and UNO has used it 3 times in THIS game NOT ONE TIME in 7 has this strategy led to the runner scoring
seems like a stategy that does not work ONCE in 7 tries might NOT be a strategy you use with one of your best hitters
and NOW ball past the catcher so Roz could have gotten to second anyway but it does HELP the strategy because now she could score on a fly ball instead of a hit. nope we cannot get the ball in play

sorry but you can obviously see that i very much dislike the strategy of bunting a runner from first to second. that said it has been done at least 8 times by the two teams so far this weekend and the runner has NEVER scored. UNO may have done it more than the 3 times today i cannot remember
bunting a runner from second to third with no outs is a strategy with actual merit!! you can score that run without a hit. BUT at the end of the day MOST OF THE TIME you need to actually hit the ball to score runs and i think there should be FAR MORE focus on hitting instead of utilizing a strategy that obviously is FAR from anything resembling a good way to score. i will concede at least i dont hate the strategy if you are using it with the bottom of your order. but i despise it when it is done with the top of your order and your theoretical power hitters
