Skyler Flatten had 28 points in last night's Class A game.

Yep, Anders and his Lakeview Christian team are heading to the state tourney after winning their section.

After watching both Skyler Flatten and Lane Severyn in the state tournaments this week, I can say that both players have great potential. I like the fact that both players have great looking shots with 3-point range and they are both very athletic. I anticipate that both will redshirt their first year, but after that they along with Hortsman and Donlin will give us some excellent options for the 2 and 3 spots. A starting lineup of Bittle-Flatten-Severyn-Larson-Devine would be a pretty good start.

Pierre beat Brandon Valley 50-39 for the State AA title. Severyn had 24pts on 9-13 shooting and 9reb. Hanson had 11pts on 2-6 shooting and 13reb.

Severyn sealed the victory with an incredible triple. Brandon had gone box and one with Brandon Valley's Chase Marso defending him well and Severyn somehow got off the shot and drained it under pressure.

A guy that follows AAU in the cities passed this along to me. Thought it was interesting.

I think he plays **** competition though, watched him against Matt thomas(Iowa state) and Thomas was far and away better. His younger brother, a soph, looked just as good right now, might be better in a couple years."

Severyn took over the championship game in the 4th quarter......clutch!!! Hanson is a great player, but Pierre was Severyn's team. Severyn did a great job of slashing to the basket throughout the game as well as making a flurry of clutch 3's in the 4th. He is a little thicker than Flatten, and has broader shoulders than him. He is a hardnosed player that goes balls-to-the-wall. I still think he will get playing time next year just because of the attitude he plays with......I believe he is willing to do the dirty work like Griff did. He needs to refine his shot a little bit as he is a little incosistent from 3land, but that will come in time. I've seen Lane play probably 10-12 times over the last 4 years and he was better than ever this year. His role next year could be dependant on how much Prince progresses this year.

I also watched Flatten for the first time in my life today, he had 21 with 17 coming in the first half. He was playing with a bum ankle that he hurt earlier in the tournament and it showed, he wasn't really jumping or sprinting anymore than he had to. Like other have said, he is really smooth with a smooth stroke on his shot. He shot 3-7 from deep and they were all from 2+ feet behind the line. He is skinny and a redshirt year will do him good.

I still know virtually nothing about Doyle and assume he will definately redshirt like most bigs do. Broman keeps doing what he does. He is a player that would ideally redshirt to get him stronger, but his consistent 3pt shooting could get him some time next year.

I would have liked to see State get Q. Hooker but I think Broman will surprise is. I'm looking forward to watching him play in a Jacks uniform.

Does a change in conference affiliation have any effect on incoming recruits at Creighton?

                        No. Only coaching changes.

On what basis are you starting Devine over Donlan?

It's always good to have a post player in the line-up.
