He didn't say the NSIC was superior, just that it was "far from rinky dink."

I guess I missed the accusation of "rinky dink" as in relation to NSIC, but I not sure how good the NSIC, but I dont think it superior to the Summit, just because we lost an exhibition to SWMU. I guess you could say the NSIC is better than the Big 1O, since Winona beat the gophers in an exhibiition also, not this year but maybe last or the year before.

I dont think this is off topic since there seems to have been an exchange about this whole matter on KWSN today with Craiger and how SDSU made a mistake in moving from the NCC to D1. We are rehashing some old stuff and now you got me going.

I called in today to the show. I found it curious that they would make a poll question on how many games the MEN would win in the Summit tourney and not the women.

I then asked Craig if he still thinks the move to D-1 was/is a mistake. He says yes it was. I reminded him that UNC left, Morningside left and NDSU was leaving and what would be left of the NCC? What kind of conference would it be? He had no answer for that and instead said something about the attendance and something about Centenary (couldn't hear him too well). I told him State needs time to develop rivalries now that we are in a conference. I pointed out the success of the football team and the success of the women's program. I asked that if the men finish top 3 in the Summit (not a stretch at all) next year if he would still view it as a mistake. Yes he would.

I am about done w/ KWSN period. I will see how they act during the Summit tourney and after it's all said and done. The constant uneducated, sarcastic garbage from Craig is getting very old.

discussion you CANT win! You are a better man than me just for being that calm with him! I really had to wonder when he said the only success SDSU has had is in WBB! You answered him well and he still would concede nothing!

That's part of it...State is doing this with SOUTH DAKOTA KIDS!!! Something the naysayers said wouldn't happen. If nohing else, support that, that it's local kids doing this on a national level.

I'm with you on most of what you say about Craig and his negativity but I certainly would't call the Northern Sun rinky dink. It may be the best D2 conference in the country. The top 5 or 6 teams in the conference are all very good basketball teams. Southwest State beat the Jacks and Frost as well in case you forgot and then turned around and lost to a 6th place Augie just a week or so later. Have you seen any NSIC basketball? Far from rinky dink. You do have Craig Mattick pegged but I'm guessing you haven't watched any NSIC basketball.

It was an exhibition where State had some injured players. Do you count Spring Training games where pitchers are working on different pitches, etc? Either way, did you think sending me a PM calling me a tool would hurt? Good one.

I just had a flash of brilliance. How about organizing a call in. They take calls at any time, why don't we just have a day when a bunch of people call in and talk Jackrabbits, let it take up a bunch of time and really work Craig up into a lather.

I have followed Kansas athletics (all athletics, not just hoops) for a long time. Bill Self, after they won the National Championship, made a statement about how the fans "guide the program". I think that's a pretty powerful statement. Those fans would never stand for a hometown station bashing their team on a regular basis. If you call into this show remember that, even in a small way, you are representing SDSU and in no way should you act like a jerk. State your point, be courteous, have your voice heard and let the people decide. A guy like Skip Bayless gets tons of hate mail and I think ESPN keeps him on b/c they know even though people hate him, they still tune in to hate him. Same might be said for KWSN.

I don't think I did a great job. I was calling in on a whim after I heard him, yet again, diss SDSU. I did ask him a question he could not answer (if SDSU would have stayed in D2 what kind of conference would they be in today?). I stayed calm b/c he wants people to call in, lose their cool and he can easily dismiss them. I feel when I call in, I, in a small way, represent SDSU fans and I can't act like a raving lunatic.

Look at the minutes all the starters played their normal minutes. And you are a tool. You stuck your foot in your mouth ripping on Mike Henrickson. You're starting threads callign people out and have been lectured on that. You're a tool.

You should probably go re-check the thread. The poster by the name of "RabbitinTea" was ripping Mike Henrickson, not me. Apology accepted.

I started this thread, stating my opinion, b/c I was discouraged by the lack of coverage by the "#1 sports show in the Sioux Empire". Judging by the responses, I am not alone.

I can't start random threads? And what have I said that is not true?

Something tells me, even if you do go back and see that it wasn't me who was ripping Mike, you won't change your tune. No biggee. And BTW, the guy that "ticked off Mike Henrickson" was stating his opinion...on this here opinion board and I think even Mike agreed the guy has a right to his OPINION. I don't think he was out of line. Heck, he didn't call anyone a name like a certain poster (ahem, ahem) on here does. )

Listened to Terry V. today on Kwsn. Wow! talk about the varsity and the junior varsity! Those two should be ashamed to be on the same show as TV! I am sure Craig hasnt heard about the internet and that we all have the ability to look up stats about everything! He said our move to D-1 will not be a success and that we gave up full houses to St Cloud St. He, of course, was trying to say every game was a sellout. I know he never was at a game! TV so "out dueled" those two with his first-hand knowledge of the league, it was great! I was getting a little tired this afternoon but now I am wide awake... thanks Craig and John!

Do you suppose TV was referring to Craig in his Blog today?
