You miss the first time, fine. But you follow it up with one just as bad (as if you were expecting the second one to go in). I actually didn't think the first one was going to hit the back board. A friend of mine and I are pretty good at guessing which ones will make the free throw and we both said no to that one.

Shots not going down like they were earlier. I believe people discussed this in earlier posts. Feel free to read past posts.

One final comment. I entered the student entrance and sat in the same area. It looked like I was the only one who brought shoes. I hope the students donated at the bookstore because it didn't look like any brought shoes. I didn't see what the main entrance looked like for shoes and I'm hoping they release the final tally sometime for everyone to hear. This is a good collection to help others and I'm hoping other fans donated, no matter what their attitude towards Coach Nagy and/or the team is.

And yes, I do have a problem with it. Especially when they are cussing up a storm and acting like idiots.

And no, I don't think we owe the bison anything for helping set an attendance record two years ago. Why don't we just give them the marker back?

Thanks for contacting me off the board, and as I said I was not at the game and did not observe the behaviour you noted in the PM, so this was not good thing for fellow doners to JC, and my apologies for mentioning the word "hostile' when discussing Bison Fans and their behaviour. Some of these fans are great people, and some act like jerks and make the others look bad, and that may be the case Friday Night that is Jerks and not gentlemen or ladies. I missed the game in person btw.

If you give your tickets or trade them or whatever to other people, you should know who they are and how they will behave especially if they are courtside. Good points.

No we are not going to give the marker back unless Coach Bohl finds a way to beat us on the field. I DO think the business people in Brookings have no problem receiving dollars from people wearing John Deere colors(Green and Gold).

My thoughts exactly. I have no problems with people giving their tickets to Bison fans, what I did not like is these Bison fans were IMO trying to attract more attention than the game itself.

Amen, I am sure there are SDSU fans out there that do the same thing, and frankly I'd be just as upset/sad for them as i was for those 4 NDSU guys.

I think your wrong. You don't ever want to forget that. what happened how it happened, If you forget and let it go it will still come back to haunt you. I would replay that last minute of the game everyday before practice for the players and every other close game they lost in the final minute untill they know what it takes to win those games. We have the talent, we were with in a minute of victory but that final minute was just as important as the first 39. If we play the final minute as good and hard as we do the first 39 we have 3 wins instead of losses. Dont ever forget what happened and work twice as hard next time to prevent it from ever happening again. To ignore what happened and forgetting it will never make it better or help, just my thoughts.

Im completely dissapointed in the outcome. We really should have won, we drove to the basket for layups also we missed several more then they did, I think they got layups to easy but they converted um, we didnt. We had chances, the ball rolls a few centimeters the other way and goes in, we win, but it doesnt, seems to be our teams life story, how many times can they be so close with out rolling in.

In all honestly, NDSU the "great" (sarcastic) summit league team who beats everybody and senior loaded out worked us to get the game, barely. Coulda woulda shoulda, we were close but did not do enough to win but I see a turning of the tides next year for sure. Im not writing off this team but we have most of them coming back is what excites me, a few new additions maybe a healthy davis, NDSU loses its core of its best players and as far as i can tell is not bringing in anyone close to their talent and abilities, however we lose 1 while gain 3 or 4 and bring back our core group, if we lose again next year is when i will really be pissed but I will accept this one that we lost. Could have won but we didnt and I am ok with the loss, just the way that we lost is i think what the problem is. Sorry for the long winded respone but I think it had to be said or if i missed it, repeated.

To me, it looked like only one of the NDSU fans sitting in the front row seats was acting like an assk (taunting the student section was the main one). I have no problem with season ticket holders exchanging tickets to out-of-town fans IF they know the fans are going to behave.

Year after year, it seems like the Summit League refs we have working the games (both the men's and the women's) are getting worse and worse (not just against SDSU, but against both teams). The Summit League really needs to look into getting new refs. There needs to be constant calls from all refs on what is a foul, and what isn't. Are they going to let physical play go one night and not the next? Is a hand check a foul tonight but not the next night? If a player gets thrown to the ground (i.e. Rotert last night), is that really a foul (ummmm yeah)? The commish and the schools need to get together and get rid of the crappy refs and find some quality ones.

I'm not using this for an excuse for Friday night. I'm making a general comment regarding the refs.

I see a posibility to make the NCAA tourny if you ask me. If Sioux Falls crowds are as good as we think they will be sizewise how much improved our men are at home, I feel in that tourny we could very well beat any other team in the confrence no matter the seeding. Simple as that, if we have the fan support Its more then posible, no fan support not a prayer. compared to confrence play from last year I am happier will what we are doing, we are going in the right direction, just not fast enough. A few more hard close games in rough conditions are only going to help this team i feel. we are not giving in and hanging our heads like we felt they did last year. Hate to see what this team can do when they figure it all out. actually i would love to see what they can do, but you get my point. they are literally plays and seconds away from turning these games around and i think they will still do that this season. And I wouldnt be a very good fan if i didnt. Frankly come summit tourny time I think we should be the team others are afraid to play. I will change my mind if we dont make the tourny, but hell our high water, this team can more then prove it self during the tourny. Lose close games now other teams overlook us we figure out make a few adjustments and WHAM staight to the kisser a hows your uncle and we are putting on our dancing shoes, or atleast donating them to coach nagy for the sumaritan shoe drive.

After next weekend we go to IUPUI and Western Illinois, both who are tied with us. That will be a huge road trip. IUPUI, what has happened to them? They almost beat Arizona St, beat Seton Hall(who knocked off Georgetown today) and theyve lost 5 of 6 in conference i think. I think we break our conference road losing streak on that trip. We go 5-4 in the 2nd half of the conference schedule and make the tourney as the 6th seed. Im always an optimist, its healthier.

Time to expect 6-3 the rest of the way. Maybe better.

Rather than lament a lost season, it is time to say: 6-3 is not only possible, it is expected.

I've said it before in another post. I think six wins gets you in the tournament. But I believe the Jacks will be playing only for a better seed on the final road trip.

Anyone disagree that the anger and disappointment on this board over the last month is different from immediate seasons past? Different in this way: It has been far more to do with inexperience or shots not falling, rather than lack of effort or being overmatched.
This is not pollyanna, this is a fact: Jacks are about three bad minutes at the end of the last three games from potentially being 6-3, and a game out of first place.
Now, it is undeniable that the same things at the end of games keep happening. But at some point, a breakthrough - a last second shot that falls; a screwup by the other guys at game's end; one or two key Jacks recognizing they've been here before and doing something to overcome it; heck, even unabashed luck - is going to happen.
Halfway point in a season of promise and disappointment is a perfect time to expect more progress than disappointment. Cup half full and filling. Anyone disagree?

Yes I agree, we need and must win those close ones. Too many games have been lost in the last minute, but I think we can always improve on defense in the other 39 minutes. Do the D improvement, and the final minute goes by with no signifcance, especially if the Jacks got 10 or more on the scorebroad, then our opponent.

Sometimes people say ohh that team got all the breaks, we have heard it before. I always feel you make your own breaks. its not the other team gets lucky, well, not often anyway. You have to make your breaks, as in chances and oppertunities. I feel we are so very close to that soon, we are the team holding a lead(NDSU and other games) or if we have to come from down a few points we can actually close it out and win it.(MN game). To be so very close I think is impressive for still a rather young team, we have a few JRs to lead us but they have been about the only mainstay the whole transition. They have gotten us so close but i think they can get us over the top yet.
