  • Re: NDSU Game Thread

I've been holding my tongue since last night, but for some reason I can't get over that game. I haven't been that pissed off leaving a game in a long, long time.

I went last night having a good feeling of the Jacks playing a very good game. Moral victory...HA! Never.

How many freekin' layups did they give up? Twenty, for real? No wonder they're giving up 60% shooting from the floor lately. Bring in the skinny @$$ 6'11" guy and have him drill a couple of guys coming in the lane and maybe they'll think a little more about driving every time.

To allow a team to come back and force overtime when they are down by 5 with a minute to go and not even make a bucket is absolutely unacceptable. To let Woodside go crashing into every effin guy on the court until he gets a foul call is such crap, effective, but crap and for the Jacks to allow him to do it is more crap. Steal the ball, take a charge, something, come on!!!

The shot Callahan took was just junk too. Have some presence of where you are and how much time is left. Where the heck was Cordova in that last minute? Granted they could have went all hack a Shaq on him, but for the stuff he was throwing up to go in, he was the best option.

That 60 foot shot by Winkleman could have just as well went in, it would have eliminated the five minutes of pain in overtime.

I read the article in the paper this morning and it just revved me up again. This was not a disappointing loss. This was an aggravating loss.

Gotta come out with some assertiveness on Thursday and win and then again Saturday. These are home games, they must be won for Sioux Falls in March to be an option.

Let's just admit....Sioux Falls is NOT an option and get over it. I don't care who it is...Ya don't lose IN THE HOUSE. I agree with everything you said. I REALLY wanna know who gave their front row seats to those NDSU J-E-R-K-S (next to Mike Redmond). That was just plain WRONG.

I totally agree. One of my biggest pet peeves is when Season Ticket Holders give their seats up to the opposing team's fans.

I had an NDSU fan sit behind me (a seat pirate), he had this enormous "Man Crush" on Woodside. After Kai dunked it and the crowd got into it I gave a big yell and stared right at the guy. He obviously got the point and was pretty quiet the rest of the game. Nothing makes me more mad than having the other team's fans sit in the reserved seats and being obnoxious.

Did he have more of a man crush then the 2 sitting in the Gen. Admission seats with the "Woodside" banner made and wearing his jersey?
Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!--Bluto--

I think he might have...after Woodside missed one of his free throws, I leaned over to my wife and said "Maybe he isn't God after all."

Not sure there is basis for that statement other than pure pessimism.

SDSU is in a 4 way tie for the 6th spot and 2 out of 4th. They have IPFW, UMKC and SU at home. IUPUI, Centary and W. Illinois, who are in a free fall on the road. All very winnable games. Even Oakland should be a battle.

Thursdays game is important to get back on track, but they are far from sitting home at this point. They have progressed from the first 1/3 of the season and could easily make the next step in the last half of conference play.

Who saw the student in the 2nd half of the woman's game brick the free throw shot and then miss the second one? We demand he come back for an encore.

Those two were in front of us and thankfully out of our sightline. I thought it was incredible that someone in our student section didn't take the banner when they were hanging it right over them. There was a group of middle school aged kids that moved down and heckled them with their SDSU posters and foam fingers. They had more cahoneys than our students did. I guess there is still hope.
I don't care if opposing fans have "connections" and get premium seats. I can't stand the total lack of class to make a spectacle of themselves. I don't mean to speak ill of the dead, but, it reminded me of the time that Fred Tibbetts had a courtside seat for a State vs. U game and wore a "Hate State" shirt. That was the biggest lack of class I have in my record book...but this one was close. I was proud of Mike for giving it back.

As I understand it, Chad Hungerford of Hungerford Chiropractic and also "the staff chiropractic physician for the University athletic department at SDSU" was generous enough to give his seats to NDSU fans.

I sure dont have have a problem with Dr. or Mr. Hungerford doing this. He might be wanting a good seat in Fargo and if he has friends and relatives that follow the Bison, then when we go north, Hungerford might have a good seat. No big deal as far as I am concerned. I think we owe the Bison fans something for setting an attendence record at CAS a year ago, so why be hostile about one guy giving his tickets to friends or relatives?

Didn't realize I was "hostile" maybe you should re-read my post.

And yes, I do have a problem with it. Especially when they are cussing up a storm and acting like idiots.

And no, I don't think we owe the bison anything for helping set an attendance record two years ago. Why don't we just give them the marker back?

Complete meltdown, enough said...that also includes the last 1:04 of regulation. I'm with packer, erase that memory from my head as quickly as possible.
