    Re: GDT: SDSU vs Omaha

Whats happened with Flatten lately? He only played 11 minutes last night and 0 pts. Missed a jam. Vs Western he played 5 minutes, 0 pts. Against USD he played 27 minutes and 0 Pts. He scored 11 against NDSU with 24 minutes. So what happened after the USD game that he has played less. I was really excited to have him back. What happened since USD? They need him in there. Or maybe coach is playing his players, Reed and Daum. IDK And Reed has struggled

I think you answered your own question. He hasn't scored since the NDSU game. Otz said at the presser yesterday hes searching for someone to me more consistent on the offensive end. He's right that there hasnt been a consistent second threat.

We can argue all day weather that's the biggest issue.....

Thats right. Offense is the problem. We need to score more than 93 points to win a game and Flatten wont help us do that.

Wasn't the reasoning why Flatten didn't play more under the previous staff was that he didn't play good defense ?

Whos more athletic on our team than Flatten? He got a great rebound last night but missed the stuff. We would see that more often if he played more.

Im not sure but a guy could almost literally not play any defense and be better than we've been.

You grossly mischaracterized TJ's on-the-record statements concerning Gentry, and you dismiss significant roster transitions which impact depth, game lineups, and competitiveness as "whiny excuses."

Sorry, but Daum's presence alone and preseason plaudits don't win games, and it takes time to implement new systems. You'd figure an expert like you would know that.
I had to return to the original post #50. With all of YOUR psycho whatever, I would encourage you to return there and start another story. Also, it would seem very unusual to suggest that Coach Otz was reading the stat sheet. You suggestions prompted me to read some of your other posts. One post is referring about the parameters of Coach Otz's tenure. No one had brought that idea up prior to your post #51. Also, if I go to the post #33 on the overview and random thoughts thread; you will find the first mention of Tevin King being another possible transfer. Not that I would accuse you of calling the kettle black, I would advise you that an overactive imagination that seems to be engaged from that first post of mine on post #50. So do you have some inside information that led you to drop these remarks?

Yup one game with a bunch of points means we're just an offensive juggernaut. Prolly don't even have to worry if a guy can shoot we're so good at offense.

Here's the reality for all you guys who are huge bball fans, and it's something Zimmer said in his podcast. We aren't entitled to 20 wins every year. We aren't Gonzaga. We are a good mid major program but we are going to have down years, and if any of us had paid any attention we probably would have pegged this year as one of the down years. Sorry to burst your bubbles/ we aren't able to just roll the ball on the court and get a win cause we are SDSU. We came into this season with a brand new coaching staff and zero experienced guards and were forced to replace the ones that left with already passed over players. You should actually read the stats that bigticket posted, the records for Nagy before he got any decent front court play were pretty bad.

You don't like that Otz plays the type of ball you want to watch? Welp, that's too bad I guess. If you want to be pissed all year that's a you problem.

The story that was started was yours regarding how TJ handled Cole's exit. I still have not seen anything from you to justify that complete fabrication.

As for looking at a possible stat sheet, TJ seems to flip a page (it's audible on the video at the 1:12 mark) during the interview, when he mentioned production from other players. I mentioned jacksstudent's post from the Overview thread in this one as an example of what could be valid points.

As for King, again, I never said he was transferring; I said IF he were to transfer, it would be disappointment on another level.

Can you explain why you thought King may transfer? Can you also respond to why you laid out the reason Coach Otz might not get his full 3 years? Now I would ask for you to come clean with these innuendos. Is there something in fact to back your bringing these to the table? By the way, read the post #58 which has the response to your post and try not to read any more info into the post. Then try to remember a coach telling a player who is leaving the program good riddance. Then put the pat on the back response to your assertion and that the extra time here for Cole Gentry has been a really good time for him. I will agree that Coach Otz was cordial with announcement. However you are a bit naïve to expect me to be happy to see a talented point guard and a good kid move on to another school. Also, I would expect you to respond to your drivel surrounding the coach's contract and the possible transfer of King.

You sound like a guy sitting in his man cave wearing a Vernon Adams jersey while watching Eastern Washington football highlights screaming "If only we could have scored 40 points against Youngstown!"

Obviously I'm yanking your chain, Thumps. But I figured you'd appreciate defense a little more in round ball than your letting on.
If you think nobody cares about you, try missing a couple of payments.

If you had read all of the posts, you would see that I lamented that Sell could have a change of heart or SDSU could very well hire an AD who exhibited values and behaviors like yours in which a coach's averted eyes (side note -- even coaches like AJ and Omaha's Coach Hansen look down at something during the pressers; maybe the plastic tables in the media area are just really fancy) are seen as a noteworthy offense and who is disinterested in objectively examining why the Jacks might be having difficulty -- you know all that "drivel" and "whining"?

If you want to throw a fit about a player leaving, have at it, but don't expect not to be confronted if you lie about how the staff allegedly handled a player's departure.

Yet again, I have never stated that a transfer is imminent or even likely. What I posted was that I was disappointed King was benched, would be more disappointed if it continued, and would be still more disappointed if lack of playing time caused him to leave.
