Re: Rumor: Nagy to Wright State
Part of me was hoping he would pull an AJ, but such is life. We will move on too and probably be better off because he was here."The most rewarding things you do in life, are often the ones that look like they cannot be done.” Arnold Palmer

Re: Rumor: Nagy to Wright State
I have to laugh about Nagy saying it took a special place for him to leave SDSU. Let's be real it took north of $500,000 to make it a special place. There is nothing else special about the Job, University or city of Dayton. Call it what it is a change of scenery, a fresh start and primarily a money grab and financial security for his family with a five year contract (2.5 million) and that is okay he has earned it! I appreciate what he has done for the University and wish him luck unless they play the Jackrabbits. I still think he should have held out for a better program, but realize the earning potential window was closing. Look forward to a new voice and leadership in the basketball program.

Plus, I think it is pretty exciting to see who we bring in. I have a lot of trust in Sell. It is a very attractive job and I have no doubt we will all be very happy once the process is over. This is a chance for our Men's program to take that next step.

I look forward to positive post-game interviews with whomever is the new coach. I loved Scott Nagy, glad he was the coach but I did not enjoy his post-game interviews at all. I will also enjoy seeing a new coach who uses time-outs in an effective manner. Here's to a new day ...

Personally I'll never forget a couple of his post game comments. One was the night Berte broke his arm during "the transition". Berte's time at SDSU had some challenges but the emotion you could hear in Nagy's voice that night was real when he talked about how much it hurt to see Berte's career end like that. The second was last year after the Summit title game and how he described that this is what living feels like when you put you're all into something and put yourself up in front of an entire fan base.
Or how about when he described how he was thankful for the players like Kai Williams and Garrett Callahan and how they had as much to do with SDSU being successful as anyone?
Nagy leaving isn't a bad thing for SDSU. Both SDSU and Nagy have benefited from his service. We have a chance to bring someone in to continue the climb.
