Thanks UWM and SDSU. All the stats seem to be about the same. So to assume Sat refs, being in over their heads does not seem to be a reasonable conclusion. It was a fast moving game as most of the SL games are. Refs can make mistakes. Appearances are deceptive sometimes.
There was the one foul call in the second half that pushed the Jacks in one in one, and the ref slipped up on that. I think Cody was shooting a free throw that did not go in, and one of NDSU players who was aware of one and one, grabbed the rebound like it was a ball in play and it turned out it was. I had thought Brad Hewitt to be a little anti SDSU during the Midco games he has been part of, but he was on the ball on this call and said it should be a jump ball according to the rules. Brad was Tom Nieman's color guy. I had no idea who he was until I did a Google, and found out he was an assistant at USD for a couple years and currently is the Junior Varsity coach at USF.
