Last year SDSU NDSU played a basketball game for the conference championship. SDSU edged it out. It was a good game to watch.

If you have Midco it will probably show a replay. Officiating was sub par imo.

I would not waste my time looking for bad officiating. It was like most games, refs make mistakes, it happens all the time.
If you want to replay it to see how Braun and Bjorkland got the job done, then it might be worth a look. It's not butt hurt, its the truth. The Bison were the better team on Saturday. I sense an off year for the Jacks coming this season.

The first half was the most obvious of the officiating. It could have used by these guys for NBA interviews showing they could let many travels go unnoticed. Actually the NBA would call them closer. Consistency appeared to be a problem. The second half was all the bison shooting out the gate for a run to win. Braun scored at will to lead the way.

                        Re: Bison vs Jacks

Officiating was just okay, not great. Some weird things happened. The Heemstra travel was a make-up call for a questionable travel call on the bison. The couple of reviews at the monitor for flagrant elbows seemed unnecessary. The 1 on 1 that SDSU missed and nobody moved to get the board was odd as well. That crew just seemed to be a little off.

None of it affected the outcome. NDSU was better that day and is a better team. They have faster players that shoot, pass, dribble and defend better than SDSU's players. I fail to understand how some can't seem to make that connection. When you play a team that has better basketball players on it than you do it is hard to win. Sometimes experience, coaching, luck result in the team with lesser players winning but not often. Nobody expected SDSU to win the conference and go to the NCAA's every year, especially not this year with no true point guard, lack of quickness and strength on defense and a short bench.

If our guys compete the way they did against the bison things will be okay and there is a chance the Jackrabbits could pull an upset (or two) in March and be a "Cinderella story". Jacks are not, were not and will not be the favorite to win the Summit this year.

I don't know the experience/background of the officials working Saturday, but as I said earlier they just seemed in over their head. Similar to if junior high refs were suddenly thrust into a high school varsity game. Maybe just a little out of position, a little late with the whistle, and a little too worried about what was going to happen next instead of watching what was happening now. As you said, it wasn't a big deal and didn't effect the outcome.

They are an experienced crew. At least 2 of the 3 have worked Summit League tourney games. I don't know what their deal was Saturday and I agree with you, they seemed out of sync.

All 3 are regular Summit League / MAC officials.

Heemstra traveled. He lifted his pivot foot before he put the ball on the floor. They showed the replay on the Mid-co broadcast and the announcers also said they explained to Nagy during the timeout that he lifted his foot. The call was late which made it look really bad. Hell I thought it was a bad call until I saw the replay.

The questionable travel call I'm assuming you are talking about was the one on Bjorkland. He took about three steps going across the lane after he picked up this dribble.
