He's also the only player besides Dykstra on the team who has over 1,000 career points (Carlson will be there too by years end). On top of all that, White defends and rebounds better than most "shooters."

Chad doesn't get much credit from many posters here, but IMO he has been a fantastic player for us. Sooo many CLUTCH shots he has made in his career that changed the trajectory of this program.

You are also correct about Horstman winning games for us early in his career by my memory. The more time passes, I just think he is a player without a position on the current roster. Not quite quick enough to play guard, to small to play post. Throw in the injury bug, and he's out of the rotation.
yeah, white has had a good career overall, but his struggle in the mich. game was pretty bad. I am in the mind set of what have you done for me lately, and this year sure seems like Larson, Dysktra and Carlson with Bittle a handful of games. White as been good, but like the Challahans, and Sargent and Kai and so on, guys are replaced with good players, Wolters is probably the only guy we have had and might have that is truly irreplaceable. dykstra next year will probably be the biggest loss to graduation then the others IMO. White seems to be a defensive liability and not great at creating his own shot. And in college I think you always have to think about how just the now, but the future. We graduate a lot, so Larsen and Bittle are all we know we have for sure next year. Donlan and Devine and a lot of guys who are unproven, cant just count on Tranfers next year to just seemlessly take over, so Even if its just a few minutes here and there that doesnt really seem like its doing much for this year, it sets them up for some expereince and improving their game in the off season after getting some what meaningful PT. I dont think we need to play 12 guys a game, but having a little depth beyond the first 7 isnt a bad thing. in the D-2 days not uncommon for Nagy to play a deep bench. As different as this year has been with out Naters, next year losing 4 seniors 3 starters is going to be huge counting on 1 senjor, 1 jr, 2 transferes and freshman and redshirts who arent really playing so its going to be a whole new ball game for sure next year....says capt obvious.

Agree on Horstman, but it stinks to leave his athletic ability just siting on the bench, hes got hops and good length, I really think the back injury really put him back to square 1, and I think some of what we see with him and chicken with the head cut off is because he hasnt really developed or gotten enough experience which obviously back injuries will make that hard to get.

Broman's struggles are pretty similar to what Nate is experiencing in the NBA - new guy, playing with veterans, at a higher level of competition. Both came from situations where they were volume scorer's - option 1 (by a LOT) on their respective former teams. Now they are dealing with figuring out how to get into rhythm with their shot while being at best the 4th scoring option when they are on the floor. I think they are both hard-workers and high basketball IQ guys and will figure it out.

Honestly if the Freshman version of Nate Wolters were on this current team - How many minutes would he get? (and no - I am not predicting Anders Broman will ever be as impactful as Nate Wolters - that kid is special).

I'll take it one step further with Broman and say it's probably just as big of an adjustment not dominating the ball on the offense. He looks hesitant with his shot and it's affected his shot selection (he's passed up some pretty good looks) and accuracy. I don't think it's a coincidence that his best game was when he played with the most freedom (he nailed a pull up 3 in transition, leading to Nagy's post game comment of "Anders thought he was still in high school).

Broman is a smart kid and I think he'll figure it out, whether it be this season or later down the line.

I can't hold off any longer. I have to give Carlson some online credit for his play recently. He's basketballs version of the "big, possession" wide receiver genre of football. Except at the point guard. Plays hard. What is he averaging like 20 ppg over the last four ? Anyways I really hope he continues to do what he is doing.

Brayden Carlsen is my favorite Jackrabbit in the rotation this year. Both on and off the court he is the sort of quality guy you can count on.

How he ended last year playing well and he was good in the ncaa tourny really made me think he would have a great senior year. Just wondered how he would transition to playing pg but I think its worked out well.

Late post on this subject, but since there were a lot of criticisms of Chad White, I thought it might be the right place to make a comment or two. Chad is definitely not the best defensive player on the team, and he has been having an off-season so far. But I think the knee surgery he had to have done, and some after-effects still bothering him, that we still have the opportunity to see him return to form and restore his shooting skills. He is, after all, the #3 all-time at SDSU in 3-pointers and so he has provided a lot of punch during his career here. If he can pick it up, and Cody Larson can continue to get more comfortable with his role and play to his ability, maybe we can do a little better than a lot of people think right now. And a big P.S. to the comments about Brayden Carlson...I think he has exceeded everybody's expectations in his career.
