Re: Western Illinois
yeah, white has had a good career overall, but his struggle in the mich. game was pretty bad. I am in the mind set of what have you done for me lately, and this year sure seems like Larson, Dysktra and Carlson with Bittle a handful of games. White as been good, but like the Challahans, and Sargent and Kai and so on, guys are replaced with good players, Wolters is probably the only guy we have had and might have that is truly irreplaceable. dykstra next year will probably be the biggest loss to graduation then the others IMO. White seems to be a defensive liability and not great at creating his own shot. And in college I think you always have to think about how just the now, but the future. We graduate a lot, so Larsen and Bittle are all we know we have for sure next year. Donlan and Devine and a lot of guys who are unproven, cant just count on Tranfers next year to just seemlessly take over, so Even if its just a few minutes here and there that doesnt really seem like its doing much for this year, it sets them up for some expereince and improving their game in the off season after getting some what meaningful PT. I dont think we need to play 12 guys a game, but having a little depth beyond the first 7 isnt a bad thing. in the D-2 days not uncommon for Nagy to play a deep bench. As different as this year has been with out Naters, next year losing 4 seniors 3 starters is going to be huge counting on 1 senjor, 1 jr, 2 transferes and freshman and redshirts who arent really playing so its going to be a whole new ball game for sure next year....says capt obvious.
Agree on Horstman, but it stinks to leave his athletic ability just siting on the bench, hes got hops and good length, I really think the back injury really put him back to square 1, and I think some of what we see with him and chicken with the head cut off is because he hasnt really developed or gotten enough experience which obviously back injuries will make that hard to get.
