yeah I have to say, I like him much more as a the TV color guy as I did as a Michigan St. player.

I felt the same way at first I was like great this will suck but I was really impressed. He knew his stuff and really seemed like a fan of the game. Impressed with him as a color commentator. Never liked mich state. To me mich state is like usd the annoying little brother but this game felt the tv guys did a great job.

He might look like a ball hog, but OU offense is built around, him. Also they had a Kangas who shot a lot of threes maybe two seasons ago?. Why not build your offense around a good shooter like Kangas or Bader, and back that up with inside layups by Mondy and Valentine. It worked Saturday pretty good. As Alec Baldwin in his Capital One commerical says " the scoreboard doesn't lie".

It wouldn't be because he is a ball hog, it would have been because 3 illegal screens were set (and not called) to get him open.

Nate is the best player I've seen in the 12 years I've been watching the Summit. Better then Benson; Hill, and Green. I'd be careful what you say about Bader and Oakland. Nate is 2-7 against Oakland and 0-4 at the Orena. They may get another chance to play but I think the reason you play is to win. So our ball hog must be doing something right. 7-2 against the best player maybe ever. Also I think the all time series is 11-3 Oakland. In a rebuilding year, we just beat you and your picked to win the league. Your staring at rebuilding next year and having a ball hog who averages 22 a game might be good for you

2 minutes of playing time off the bench is ridiculous. We used 1 timeout in the first half (30 second), and none until 5:22 left in the second. If you are going to play 5 guys, at least give them a breather once in awhile.

I don't buy that our bench can't play, especially considering the fact that an fresh average player is probably about as good as a gassed starter. Complete joke. Even if a bench guy comes in and fouls, that's 30 seconds of rest. I can't wait until next year when Heemstra is magically good enough to play 35 minutes a game 1 year after he barely sees the floor.

                  Nate is amazing.

How ever next year I think the 3 starters back will have a better defined role and I think its up to the coaches to make sure they know how to play in that new role.

I'm pretty sure all of today's "ball hog" comments are in jest. As far as I can tell, they are poking fun at the opinion one person shared a while back. Count me as one SDSU fan that would LOVE to have a "ball hog" like Bader sniping 3's for us. No question! And yes, OU has certainly done it share of Jackrabbit crushing over the years. You guys have the type of program we are hopefully headed for: consistently tough no matter who graduates.

Ball hog comment was obviously in jest.

But there are some people on here that do underestimate Bader or sell him short, which is truly ridiculous. My one quibble with your post, however, will be your use of a team metric (wins) to judge an individual in a team sport. Nate isn't 2-7 against Oakland. SDSU is 2-7 against Oakland while Nate has been here. Two years and five losses came up against two of the best teams to ever play in the Summit League. Nate has been great; the team around him has not always been great. I agree with the rest of what you said.

The scoreboard doesn't lie despite your judgement of illegal screens. Your buddy the color guy thought the refs were great "letting both teams play".

I don't think anybody called him a ball hog, but it sure as heck wasn't me as some might be alluding to. I said he is a volume shooter. Bader, being a volume shooter can shoot you out of a game, or shoot the other team out of the gym

Agree, he is going to shoot the ball. Sometimes he is going to make it, more often he is going to miss. You can't completely dedicate your defense to defending a single 3-point shooter. I'd argue that he didn't beat the Jacks, it was Williams, Mondy and Valentine playing above their usual ability that did.

Tough game for the Jacks, that damn O-arena seems to be a tough place to win for both state schools to win at. I absolutely hate the announcer at their game and his obnoxious scream every time they hit a three...

As for Oakland they are solid and well coached, maybe their murders row schedule is finally paying off with all the home games and playing lesser talented teams. Bader is quite the player, he moves incredibly well without the ball and really knows how to use screens. Mondy imo was the difference maker though, kid played a great game and really stepped whenever OU needed him.

Also, this not meant to start something, just something I find funny. For a group who think NDSU fans whine about the officials, it was quite entertaining to read some comments in this thread. I guess you guys can have it both ways...

Big week this week, I think both Dakota schools protect home court and finish out the season 1/2 in the SL.
