Actually, I saw an article recently that said that there was a small but statistically significant chance that the coin would land with the same face up as was facing up when the coin was flipped, so coin flips are not precisely 50/50 events (probably more like 50.0000000001/49.9999999999% or something like that.)
JackMD is correct that hitting the ceiling modifies the odds . . . assuming my example above, the odds of the same face being up would then be 50.0000000001% times 50.0000000001% -- a result that would actually be closer to 50% than if it had not hit the ceiling.
