Dykstra(sp) inside on defense is really causing their bigs problems on the offensive front and the glass.
Dykstra was the player of the game and was the difference. He played fantastic. Heemstra was also a good surprise. Great job by him.
I didn't agree with the flagrant foul on Callahan at the end. I understand the kid is trying to make a play, but there's 15 seconds left in the game. Griffan has to protect the bucket in SDSU's house.

Jacks win by 15, but on a more somber note than they would of liked.
ORU point guard Rod Pearson might have got hurt badly with 15 seconds left trying to dunk the ball over Callahan. Grif was called for a flagrant (it wasn't btw, and it wasn't even boardline), but it is too bad a great game had to end on that note. Hopefully Pearson can return for ORU.

Basically that call was the same thing that happens in the NFL. If a corner has a clean hit against a receiver going across the middle but the receiver falls hard to the ground and gets hurt they will call the penalty every time even if it was clean. I agree there is no way that was a flagrant at all. Griff didn't body check, run into or pull Pearson down just went up and tried to block a dunk.

That was a just a hard, but clean foul - no way a flagrant. Key was that the Jacks controlled the pace of the game throughout. Did not get caught up in an up and down fast-tempo game
Sutton very humble in the presser, said Jacks were the more physical team, passing inside was great, wished they would have played better and made it a game. said Griffs foul was not flagrant was going for the ball had no problem with it.
Congratulations on the win. The Jacks were the better team on the court tonight. Dykstra was a BEAST. Hopefully the teams will play a tie breaker in Sioux Falls.
Congratulations on a great game tonight, guys. SDSU came to play, ORU didn't. I'm hoping (I know you probably aren't) that we can get our act together before Saturday.
Dykstra played great, Wolters played great. It was just an excellent performance by the Jacks.
Heemstra gave some amazing minutes. Great passes, a steal and hit his free throws. Dykstra was also awesome. Grabbed some huge boards, played tough on D and hit some amazing shots. Nate was Nate; don't know how many times I've typed that after a game. Fiegen also played really well. He was battling inside all night long.
As for ORU, I was impressed by Roundtree's length. I agree with whoever said that Pearson and Morrison were a little whiney after every call or shot. Pearson especially. Maybe it was just this game, but I didn't like his attitude.
I thought the reffing was pretty solid. There were a couple of questionable calls each way, but overall I think it evened out. As for the two 'questionable' calls, the Morrison/Callahan blarge really, really looked like a charge, but I suppose the student section isn't the best angle. And the flagrant wasn't a flagrant at all. Griff rose with Pearson and went for the ball. It's unfortunate that it ended the way it did but it really didn't look like a flagrant.
Couple more notes:
- Our passing was incredible today. Lots of touch passes on the interior that resulted in layups and dunks.
- Speaking of dunks, we had 3 dunks on the night. Coming into the game we had 5, so that's nice.
- It was a very physical game and we were just as physical. Last year's team would have ran from that but this year's team led by Dykstra and Fiegen went right back at them. It was awesome to see.
- Every criticism I've read of this team is that we "live and die by the 3" and tonight we shot like crap from 3. And won by double figures. That's a good sign.
- Lastly, the crowd was great. Other than the students chanting "Overrated" (that's dumb), it was a great atmosphere.

Anyone else notice Morrison and Pearson throwing their hands up after every call? Even did it when they got the call.
I have never seen a player do this more than Morrison. It's pretty annoying.Congrats on a great win. I am sure you guys lit a fire under ORU that will be no fun to deal with in Fargo on Saturday.
