Agree with this. Won a championship with Stig’s players. Then decimates the program on the way out for a place that will likely never win anything. I’d probably take the $$ too if offered that much.

            Lujan return? Eidsness? Dan Jackson?

Gotta find a coach and hit the portal hard... of all years, i guess this is the best year for it with FBS having to make major cuts in roster numbers.
Jimmy played a role in recruiting some of the players, and the tenor of your post assumes Rogers is nigh stealing the players, but maybe some want to follow a coach they respect and pursue challenge of playing FBS football

            • Tbh I'm shocked Washington State would take Rogers over, say, Vigen of Montana State. Defensive coordinator no doubt but wow, head coach?

Just throwing this out there the UND guy might be a good heir to the throne..

I think Dan Jackson needs to be the guy. We are going to need somebody who knows the MVFC and can recruit and rebuild fast.

Some WSU folks are saying Vigen might've turned them down.

I say bring Stig back for a year, get him to 200+ wins, make Freund OC, and if that goes well, give him inside shot as HC in 2026

You think Jacks can afford Jackson right now?

                    If so, I'm not opposed?

Ultimately it's up to the players. He can't make them stay at State and is they're going anywhere, why not with their coach?

                        A good plan for continuity.

Wouldn't surprise me if Vigen turned them down. WSU is a big school, but there's a lot of uncertainty there and it's not an easy place to win.

Can't blame Rogers for leaving, but he's not headed to a great situation.

I liked Jackson when Stig retired so yeah add him to the short list lol

But Freund has the capacities too through North Dakota. And one of the best recruiting classes this year was coincidentally when Freund came on.

It’s all about the $$$ alma mater be damned. And I’d do it too if offered that much $$$. But I’d be shocked if he wins anything besides low end bowl games at Wazzu.

Honestly, if he gets 2 million a year and a five year contract, you can't blame him. What's he have here? $400k and a three year contract? Of he succeeds in Pullman, and I believe he will, the football world is his oyster.
