So douglas goes to 3rd on the depth chart is all I know. Why you don't play him at pr is we have a good pr guy now and I don't put him at wr. I am the mind set you can't risk playing back up at the same time. I don't mind using QB for different reasons but not changing positions. Unless your the ohio state and have 3rd qbs you can move one to a different skill position. If you have 2 and don't trust douglas I don't think you risk playing both at the same time.

I don't post much, but can't resist at this point.

      1. Redshirts get pulled all the time, at all levels, for various reasons. University of Minnesota pulled a freshman QB redshirt last week in the blowout loss to Northwestern and in this week's game he didn't get in until garbage time again.
      2. If Lujan comes back healthy and proves to be a quality starter leading this team to the playoffs, I suggest many of you check yourselves before going off on TC's redshirt getting pulled. Think back to this one game, had Douglas started and struggled and the Jacks lost, how many of you would have been screaming at the decision to spare the redshirt. Coaches are paid to win and graduate players. Period. If pulling a player's redshirt gets you a win, good move. Tough on the kid, but looks great in the W column.
      3. I have hope TC will be a great player. Will be interesting to see him play against Youngstown who has a week to prep for him and, if I recall correctly, their head coach is somewhat of a defensive stalwart. Support TC next week if he struggles rather than bash the coaches for throwing him out there unprepared.
      4. Call at the end of the half...if he's your starting QB treat him like it. Yes, would have been a questionable call even with Lujan in, but if EE and Stig both feel its the right call, its the right call.
      5. Weineke has been catching passes from Lujan since the beginning of fall camp. The zip on the ball didn't catch him off guard on the one that went through his hands. That's on Jake for the drop. He's too good not to make the play no matter if Lujan, TC, or John Elway throws that ball to him.
      6. Cheer for the wins no matter who is on the field and for how many years. The clock is ticking now. We all have 3 1/2 years to see if TC is as good as many of you claim he is or not. I've never seen the kid play in person, so hopefully all of the so called experts on this board are correct. Hate me for this comment, but I'll take it all with a grain of salt until he lights up some stiffer competition as I don't see SD as a hotbed for high school football so any kid that dominates at that level still has some proving to do.

I'll only reference your 4th point. Even if EE and Stig thought it was the right call it still was the wrong call to make. Coaches are not immune to mistakes but that was a brain fart of epic proportions. Goal to go, 12 seconds, no timeouts and arguably the best jump and catch WR on the corner route in all of FCS. I do not care if the DB was 6'3" covering him, Jake wins that battle 75% of the time. If its dropped or out of bounds, kick the FG. Picked off? It's a fade, it's highly unlikely he's taking it back 100+ yds. The run had less than a 10% chance of working. We left 3-7 pts on the field due to a poor play call and no time outs. Other teams will make us pay if we squander those opportunities, always put points on the board.

The last time I was scratching my head at the end of the first half I recall at cal poly and tob was qb. Didn't run on 3rd when he had a chance and tried to spike it on 4th down I think. What ever the situation was it was bad. If not mistaken wasn't long after that play or game that sumner got in.

He ran but gave up at the 1 instead of taking a hit and getting in the EZ. Clock ran out as they tried to line up for one more play. Finished the game IIRC, and quit before the next game.

              Great win for the Jacks.
Field goal kicking must get better now or this will cost the Jacks a win. The wind excuse does fly. The kickers kick outside for practice and quite sure the wind blows during practice. 7-11 is 64% made FGs and that is not acceptable, especially inside 40 yards.
The end of the first half call by the OC to run the ball with 12 seconds left goes on the Mt Rushmore for one of the dumbest play calls in SDSU history. If the QB should have not handed the ball off don't call the play and put a true freshmen QB in that position.

Yep. Like if he really tried he could have. He was trying to get them lined up to spike it though and well it was not good game management and I am trying to say it nicely.

South Dakota and Sioux Falls area in particular is becoming a very strong recruiting area for football. The Farniok kids have been successful and the Vandeberg kid is a top WR target at Iowa along withthe Gerry kid at Nebraska. TC is good. maybe this is why all the SF kids go to Fargo because it seems everyone around the state has a hatred for the big city. This isnt junior high football anymore and I think TC proved on Sat that he should be playing the rest of the year. Lujan has been good but we all were happy last year when Sumner came back. Lujan can be a good backup and mentor for TC. TC has way too much talent now that the redshirt has been pulled to leave on the bench. The video of the locker room after the game showed how much the team supports TC. Not to say they don't with Lujan but they can tell in practice everyday that TC has a larger skill set to get this team to where it wants to go.
Also I don't want to get started on the piss poor attendance excuses. If SDSU wants to be a top FCS program like the one up north, the fans need to buy in and show up every week. Students included. A bunch of them were tailgating and didn't go to the game.

You are a ducking idiot and a moron!!!! If Christion is the "starter and savior" that so many are hoping for he should know better. Guarantee Kim Nelson taught him better in his offense. Next man up. Lujan wouldn't have made that mistake. So many people have the attitude today that it is the "boss, teacher, coaches" fault. God forbid the person performing the action ducks up. Go duck yourself!!!

Sick personal attack at the beginning of your post. Great use of ducking, cause we have no idea what you actually meant there.

And for what it's worth, Lujan isn't capable of making the pass that TC made to Cam Jones to even get them to that position in the first place.

While I am on my way out I wanted to make this comment. I had two much better athletes (a former Jack DB and a former high school QB/ professional baseball player) than I point out plays in the last two weeks that 19 should have made if he was a true All-American. It seems that he is starting to believe the homer hype along with everyone else.

Don't kid yourself. I am on a phone and don't care fix the autocorrect. **** you!

Doesn't mean a damn thing to me because QB (regardless of name) shouldn't have had to dance around for 5+ seconds provided by the Oline waiting for someone besides 19 or 85 to get open. Again go **** yourself. I will be there in two weeks cheering my voice away hoping for a Jacks ass kicking. But I would take a 1 point victory over UNI. Where will you be?
