Re: USD getting new turf
I think we should be happy that USD is upgrading their turf (after all, our players will have to play on it). That old turf was hard as a rock and no doubt was seriously worn. This has got to be a lot better and it looks good.Holy nutmeg!

Re: USD getting new turf
I'm confused. The old USD turf was not that hard at all. I used to run laps on it before the new Wellness Center opened up and it had much, much more cushion to it than the previous turf (which was the original Dome turf). Is the original turf what you are referring to? I don't think the Jacks have played but maybe a couple games on the current turf that is being replaced, and that was back when it was brand new.

Actually, I am hoping that the Coyotes decide to play their "home" games against the Jackrabbits here:

Agreeing with JimmyJack: I think the replacement turf, based on pictures I've seen, looks pretty good.

I would be all for football championships being played in a facility like that, in a town like Rapid City. Football championships would actually become a 3 day event instead of people migrating in and out of Vermillion for the 3 hours their team is in the Dome.“I used to be with it. But then they changed what it was. Now what I’m with isn’t it, and what’s it seems scary and wierd. It’ll happen to you.” — Abe Simpson

Re: USD getting new turf
That's a pretty ambitious project. I hope Rapid City can get it built and definitely agree that it could have big potential for the new home of the highschool football championships. Who would play there during the rest of the fall? They would need to keep a place that like occupied.
