What? She got shots all year within the framework of our offense or break. The same thing happened against TCU. Tonight those shots weren't there. Baylor was quick and aggressive with us out on the perimeter.

Problem for Baylor is how beat up they're getting. Allison may have just hyper-extended her knee -- no ACL or other tear. But, that knee's going to be pretty sore and will hurt badly on starting and stopping (as in going up for a jump shot or a rebound).

So, Baylor has its work cut out for them.

I'm going to cheer for Baylor to advance but it's going to be tough. They've been hit hard by injuries this season.

I think it was to our disadvantage that Coach Mulkey was in the hospital last night, b/c she got all the sympathy calls tonight!

Anyway, Great Season and we have a lot coming back and hopefully AJ also!
There were bad calls on both sides. The announcers were even mentioned how ridiculous it was blowing the whistle as much as the refs did. It was a very intense game and yall played great. It pretty much came down to coaching and in that matter we were far superior. Great teams find a way to win in the end.

It was a game that both teams played poorly enough to lose. It came down to the last play . . . Baylor made it, we didn't.

I'm a bit dismayed at all of the ref-blaming here. When did we turn into NDSU?

I think SDSU has made a statement about the quality of our women's basketball program this year. It will pay off next year, and on into the future.

I'm so proud of our team right now--players, coaches, the fans who made the trip, band, cheerleaders, everyone. You did it right.

This year was FUN! Let's do it again next year!

OMG KURT... AJ is an amazing coach.. take what you are feeling right now and multiply it times everyone of those girls sitting in the locker room with him...

He just out coached a hall of fame coaching team, a TOP 5 in the country team...

              Go home... Bisonville is it?

I would not be too hard on AJ for this game. Besides, the final SDSU basket was on a play to Jill.

I know I asked the question at the end of the first half, but my hunch is that the coaching staff felt that Jill was not matching up well with the Baylor players. I know that she got torched during the Oakland, but I also am confident that Jill will continue to make great strides and will end up being one of the program's all-time greats.

Oh, c'mon. This was a hard-fought game that could have gone either way played by a team in its first year of eligiblity against the fifth ranked team a couple years' removed from a national championship. On the road, in the opponent's back yard.
                  Declined substantially???

The three-point threat is Jill's biggest contribution to the offense, but it's far from her only one.

I guess we're all entitled to our opinions...and Kurt...mine went down of you substantially. Oh wait, I didn't have one of you in for first place.

I'll say it again...Jill couldn't get a shot off tonight due to Baylor's aggressive defense out on the perimeter. She has taken and gotten shots all year off of our break or within our offense. It's what SDSU is about. Tonight it wasn't available for her.

I think that's a fair assessment, except for the coaching comment. The refs destroyed the flow of the game in the first half. I agree with the ESPN announcers that it would have been fun to see what both teams could have done without all the whistles.

Bottom line, though: That Griffin is a great player, and she made the play at the end. We had our chances. It just didn't work out.

I'm really proud of our team.

I will remind you our Coach is up for Coach of the Year. I beg to differ on the "Far Superior" remark.

The game is done and I am not going to post again about the refs again. As for AJ and his use of Jill Young, I think the last bad call on her is why she wasn't out there. The woman blew past her and we were having great success going inside because the refs had put both teams defense on their heels (oops), so he went with the better defenders. He knows the team far better than ANYBODY on this board (unless he is posting unknown to me). Sooooooo,

                                Heck of a year!!!

It will be amazing if we get a record like this again. Congrats to everyone on the team! To the women on the team, you have made an impression on one little girl that will stay with her a long, long time.

                                Thank YOU!

                                THANK YOU!!
