That's exactly what I think about ESPN's coverage of poker.

They let players hide half their faces while playing a remarkably low-skill version of a game that should not, under any circumstances, be considered a sport.

Five or seven card stud played with no hats and sunglasses....
Whats really bad is that they show previous year's "tournaments" on ESPN Classic! Classic? How can something not a sport be considered "classic"? Give me something to paint and a comfortable chair to sit back and watch it dry ...

                        Re: March Madness Articles

From Mechelle Voepel's Sweet 16 predictions at ESPN:

But as for Baylor … holy moly. With coach Kim Mulkey back on the bench after spending the first round in the hospital, Baylor had to deal with a seventh-seeded South Dakota State team that stayed with the Big 12 tournament champion to the very end. Kelli Griffin -- the player of the game for Baylor -- hit a baseline runner with five-tenths of a second left for the winning basket. It was another come-from-behind victory for Baylor, which is making a habit of that (the Lady Bears needed overtime to advance out of the first round), and it was a very tough loss for what had to be the most under-seeded team in the tournament. The Jackrabbits had to have won some new fans, if not the game.

RR comments: Jacks did themselves proud in the tourney. It took 90% FT shooting by Baylor to beat the Jacks on a night when the trey's weren't falling like we normally see.

IMHO Jacks ended up as a #7 seed because of what to do with K-State (couldn't be playing Baylor in the 2nd round). We'll never know. However, K State, along with Tenn, glares as teams that may have been seeded too high.

From Mechelle Voepel's Blog, more Rabbit ramblings:

Baylor will be in Raleigh _ along with Maryland, Vanderbilt and Louisville _ bringing along harrowing tales of surviving fearsome Rabbits. Bummed as the South Dakota State faithful surely are after losing on a last-second shot to Baylor, the Jackrabbits should be proud of themselves. Really proud.

They proved without a doubt they were better than their No. 7 seed and that they belong right there with the teams from “big” conferences. Let’s hope some really big-time programs have the gumption to go play in Brookings in the coming seasons.

Nice article about the Sun Devils....

Who play a similar system to the Jacks. ASU and Vandy were the two teams that employ the platoon system of players like the Jacks. It would be interesting to see these two schools on a future schedule.
