    If anyone thinks that SDSU has a better coach than NDSU they're wrong.

    Frankly, you CAN give the Jacks too much credit.

    From the moment the Bison took the field in the Marker Game, as in every game they will play until the NC game, and possibly until they make the Rose Bowl, the game is theirs to lose.

    They didn't deserve to win, and I'm sure you would've heard that from Coach Bohl and maybe even the players if they would've squeaked one out.

    ---

    That is the difference between SDSU and the Bison. SDSU is good enough to make NDSU pay for some of their mistakes and that's the end of it.

    Don't take it personally. I just had to. It's been my duty in this aftermath of that "Fluke at the FFD". It took a while, but I eventually came to accept it. Maybe someday you will accept your unfortunate fate, too.

      The '07 season was a definite upset (that's why it tasted so sweeeeeet). The Jacks were better prepared by far, and NDSU had been coasting since they knocked off the Gophs.

      HOWEVER

      I wouldn't even begin to call the defeat up in Fargo this season an 'upset'. SDSU had a higher RPI, had played more quality opponents (even if they'd lost), and had significantly better on field leadership.

      ----

      Is Bohl a better coach than Stig? Frankly, I don't know.
      I =do= know that Stig has turned SDSU into a 'destination' for a certain caliber of all around student athlete, and I don't know for certain that Bohl has done the same in Fargo.

      I also know that Stig didn't have all those NCAA clearinghouse and eligibility issues that Bohl had......

        Oakland would lose big time to Montana, wisc ., utah, gonzaga, definatly for sure Maryland(another bad 1/2)maybe illinois, teams we beat either on the road or convincingly,forgot minn at the barn, so why we would lose to oakland & win against better teams is kind of a mystery, they just thought it was gonna be easy i think, & everything fell apart in one gameTime to forget this game & move on to kicking butt again!

          The game is over Oakland won. Fluke or non-fluke, its a Oakland win, and a SDSU loss. I really think we are way overboard in picking on individuals for reasons for a loss. Its suppose to be a team effort, and why would it not be? Even if you can point a finger in a direction like some have, what should we do? Should we trade these fallible individuals to NDSU? Who would you like exchange? Miss Plucker, she is from SD. Oh thats right she is on the injured list. We are getting beyond stupid in our train of thought. Enough.

              I guess the way I look at it shinman is this... I would MUCH rather the loss come now than a month from now. It is a wake up call. Don't get to confident and no matter who your opponent is, you have to show up to play to win....

              Also, it is a great motivator moving forward... Don't let XXXX be the next Oakland.

              No loss is a good loss, but this wasn't a backbreaker either. Just a good learning tool on the season.

                A few things to keep in mind about our WBB team/season:

                1) They are as good now as before the loss. One loss on the road to a pretty good team doesn't change that.

                2) They will probably lose another game or two in the conference. I don't see us, as good as we are, going 17-1 in the conference.

                3) There is zero chance that more than one Summit team makes the Big Dance....meaning, the only must win is the Championship game in the Summit Tourney.

                  I'll disagree with two points in this above post.

                  1) I believe these Jacks CAN GO 17-1 in the regular season in the Summit.

                  2) Jacks have the kind of OOC and if 17-1 in the regular season that may warrant an At-large bid should they be upset in the Summit tourney. Though much better to not leave to a committee to select a 2nd Summit team, but instead win the title in Sioux Falls.

                    I agree that our out of conference schedule would warrant us getting an at large bid if we continue to win the Summit. BUT, I am not sure the ncaa committee would take two teams from the Summit. Can't leave it in someone else's hands.

                      i think being a ranked team in both polls, makes it harder to get a comfortable lead , because the longer they stay close , the more in thier mind they're on the verge of a big "upset", so if they're putting out 100% effort, then we have to match that effort too
                      There won't be any more "easy" games from here on out, unless we take charge & demoralize them right off the bat.
                      If were ranked #23, then theoretically only 22 other teams in the whole nation are capable of beating us, we have to prove to each & every team we play in the summit that that's the case, we dropped the ball against Oakland.Be true to your ranking, & strive to improve.
                      Our loss column is all filled up if we want to continue to be ranked .

                        This is dead on. Losing a conference game to a 10-4 team, on their home court, with their other losses being GA, Marquette, Michigan St?, is slightly forgiveable, and if Oakland does well the rest of the way out, they may reach the low 100's rating (RPI). In which case, then they are about even with OR/UT/Mizzou as far as quality opponent.

                        With that said, this loss will hopefully spur the Jacks to NOT allow another team to have a lead at all after 10 min into the game. Hopefully, they will look at the film about what Oakland did that led to their high % shooting, and figure out how to prevent in the future games.

                        Another loss to a team not even in the top 100 RPI would be basically unforgivable of a top 25 team, Jacks would be voted out. Jacks may still fall out as more major teams build winning conference records. Best help for the Jacks now is for 1)them to not lose again; 2) our OOC teams to do well, preferrably win their respective conferences.

                          'Twas the second loss of the season, and hence behold;
                          the players moved on, the rest of the story had yet to unfold;
                          they tried their hardest, although winning had become regulatory;
                          but this loss they suffered, stole some of the glory;
                          the wizardry in passing, resulted in unforgettable dishes;
                          but the end result, went against some of their wishes;
                          as they awoke the next morning, there began a new day;
                          there was another task, a new beginning on the way;
                          the ultimate prize, was the pinnacle of their journey;
                          but still months away, waited the NCAA tourney;
                          twenty years from now, will people recall;
                          a loss in January, or the dance in March Madness hall?;
                          ranked in the polls, a feat we will never forget;
