I sure hope our SID provides the info about our history as it pertains to leading the nation in GPA. If he doesn't he should, this is college and an education is the priority.

Great win for the Jacks, soon enough we will be favored in games like this. Just cracked open a Sam Smith's Oatmeal stout, good stuff.

Nicely done. I was worried listened to the game about the effort. Just didnt sound like we were ready for this one untill rotert took the lead for us. After that I was very comfortable with the game even though it was on the road. Maybe now we can start offering 2 home and 1 away to get the goofs to come play us. We are the better team yet they get the home games. They prolly wont be on our schedule any time soon anymore. Atleast Wisc, Ore, USC have enough sense and wisdom to know that its a good oppertunity to play at frost against a good team on the road. Good Game for Rotert, just need Ketty to step it up more often too. 3 points is not enough for someone with her talent.

Great effort tonight! If the Jacks win Friday will they lose until the Big Dance? If they win out they will be 32-1 entering the Big Dance. Can we get a top 4 seed?

It would be tough since the Summit League isn't exactly full of top tier talent, but the should be a top 10 seed easily

I just checked realtimerpi.com. They posted the score as a loss for the Jacks and a win for Minnesota! Are there other non-believers out there?

I think we can go 32-1, and I think its a little early to think about the tournament but a top 4 seed is unlikely. However, if you need to speculate it would be to our advantage to be seeded as a 5,6,11,12, or 13 to avoid playing the top seeds until later.

In a word, no. If we win out we might work our way up as high as a #15 poll ranking, but that will probably translate to something like a 6 or 7 seed. Our RPI is going to take a serious dive once we start playing in the Summit League--even if we go 18-0, and one of the numbers the selection committee looks at is the RPI, for better or worse.

Getting a bit ahead of ourselves, I think. Let's beat Gonzaga and see what happens!

Rivals/Yahoo sports also had the score transposed. I sent a note to them.

Agree. Minnesota is a WNIT team from last year, not a tournament team. They have had some very respectable teams lately but they aren't a top tier program. We need to care of things in the Summit league and let the seed fall where it may. It would be very advantageous to be an 11 seed or higher and I think that is a possibility.

I just looked up at my ESPNews HD and saw on the left hand side, the score of tonight's game.

                            That doesn't get old.

This was killing me all night long. She must have said South Dakota instead of South Dakota State 20 times. I don't expect that people would have an intimate knowledge of our program at this time, but it should be easy enough to know your opponent a little bit. Especially when your broadcast partner is correctly referencing South Dakota State throughout the same broadcast.

I don't want to cause thread drift or smack...this is a serious comment. I think that what may be happening is the Jackrabbits are simply taking over the name South Dakota for sports identification. While we want people to know us as South Dakota State, people in DI institutions, when referring to South Dakota, mean SDSU. And, with the success we're having in sports -- as a practical matter, South Dakota State is South Dakota's team. I don't care whether some other institution claims that as a moniker -- they can have it -- but in people's minds, SDSU is the State's highest level and most successful sports program... it is THE team.

Examples: when a Big 10 team like Minnesota or Illinois or Wisconsin talk about South Dakota State, they mean the Jackrabbits. When they are talking about South Dakota, they mean the Jackrabbits.

As additional time passes, South Dakota State will be firmly in the minds of sports fans, coaches, writers, announcers etc.
